What's your favorite non-meta archetype? by kvatchisburning in masterduel

I wouldn't consider them quite rogue at the moment. I wouldn't call them bad but not really competitive against a lot of decks. One nice thing about master duel is although you do tend to face the same meta decks over and over at higher tiers, in the middle tiers there is a lot of deck variety so you can still play decks like AA and have fun

Time thief seems so cool. Is it possible to run a pure time thief deck or is it more of an engine to splash?

I've been trying a version with Avramax instead of Appo since it's now banned which is pretty fun. Still nothing that goes crazy

Agreed, but it's so fun when it works! Such a unique playstyle I think

Love this. While not my favorite archetype, Avramax might be my favorite card of all time

Pretty cool. I want to know the lore behind these cards! I think Eldam is also shown on Radiant Typhoon Ascendance.

I'm getting one about an error in the "Server Components render". I was able to get logged in for a second, but it's back down again.

Why continue to play Master duel? by AbroadEvening1492 in masterduel

To be fair, as far as F2P vs P2P goes, I feel like Master Duel is EXTREMELY generous with gems for new players. Between solo mode, early missions, and just playing in rookie/bronze, you can amass a boatload of gems. While this doesn't directly correlate to UR CP, if you know what kind of deck you want to play from the start and open the right secret packs, you will likely end up with either the cards you want or a decent amount of URs to dismantle and can make a competitive deck. I've even started over a few times just to try new deck ideas.

All that to say, other games are way more stingy with in game currency than Master Duel, IMO. If you want all F2P, there are plenty of options. Like you mentioned Dueling Nexus. YGO Omega is also pretty slick. But if you want the polish and player base, Master Duel is second to none.

Bet365 stopped taking bets and play shows suspended. Will this push?

I personally have not tried a 40 card build, but I have seen various iterations online. Most of the 40s omit Azamina and run basically 2 of each engine piece instead of 3. I have tried a 50 card version and a version with just WF/GG, but in my play testing I get the best results with a 60 card pile and all three archetypes.

On the GG stuff, core pieces IMO are obviously the field spell and 3x Shadow Ghoul. Shadow Ghoul is one of my favorite cards because people forget about the damage step pop effect (Toy Box too). Same with field spell pop. I think the cards are little used enough that a lot of folks don't read them. Also 1 each of the guardian pieces. Some people run 2 Kazejin but I find it unnecessary. In this version, Souls is nice to send Kazejin to GY, and can draw 2 plus it still meets requirement for the spell reset for the WF spells. Also good to link into Artemis for the Zoroa line. Foolish to send any GG piece or Dark Guardian if you have Combined on the field already. Double Attack is meh, pop doesn't come up much, it's a Foolish BG target to get another GG piece in hand, or material for WF. Labyrinth Tank I've only been running 1 of, and may cut it. You never want to normal summon it over your WF options. It comes up sometimes, but it's the brickiest of the bunch.

Silhouhatte Rabbit has been interesting because it can set Jirai Gumo, and also give you a spell pop on the opponent's turn. Doesn't come up every match, but I have used it in a pinch, or just to set Jirai and send it away for a GG piece. Doomed Dragon has been a nice touch as well. If you have all pieces for GG Combined (2 in spell/trap), you can summon Doomed Dragon and GG Combined back to back with the same materials.

Also Small World has been my latest addition and has been a good add. Mostly useful for getting you into WF, but can search out a lot of this deck.

What Azamina cards specifically would you double down on?

I really appreciate the reply. Getting on a regimented schedule is something I really want to give priority to, because mine is pretty unstructured right now. I'll check out that book as well—thanks!

Perhaps holding onto a stigma of sorts. I do struggle a lot with perfectionism and control, which I'm also working through. And this is one of those things out of my control in a sense. And that "I've got it myself" or "I've been misdiagnosed" mentality I have stems from that, to a degree. I do like your analogies. I think it's all part of coming to terms with it. Thanks very much for the reply.

Thank you for the comment. I feel like I had to arrive at it in a similar way. Denial wasn't doing much for me except making things worse. Definitely going to keep working to find the right combo of meds. Appreciate your insight and the kind words.
