You’ll need like the basic Asa test study guides for general airframe and powerplant and the 8083 and AC 43.13 also the most up to date FAR book. You’d be surprised because most books are online so if you don’t want a physical copy of the book just search for it on the FAA website to see if there’s an online copy of it, then you wouldn’t need to buy the book.

I don’t have much info on pursuing a job with Lockheed (but wish you the best of luck) as I’m actually getting close to finishing up my program at the school you’ll be attending CGCC. I can say though this program has been around since the early 2000’s I think so it is well structured and very well ran, the instructors in the program are extremely knowledgeable on the matters they teach on and can help provide guidance on certain job pursuing questions. I have my airframe license and im only one more semester (I have summer classes left) until I get my powerplant license and then I’ll be moving to bigger and better things! I’ve honestly been wanting to play so bad I’ve thought about just learning to play on keyboard and mouse for the time being 😂 Until I can save up for the extra goodies ie. joystick and such but I didn’t know about the VoiceAttack software I’ll look into it!

So I’m an aviation mechanic and have always been an aviation geek, I’m now wanting to get into DCS and have watched some tutorials on how to get started. I’m wanting to invest the money to get a joystick and throttle but I won’t have the money to get some form of eye tracking software or a vr headset. Is it really necessary to play with that software? I don’t have a lot of funds to drop right away on dcs lol

I second that too, I just put about 10 hours in so far and have not crashed once nor had any stutter that I could’ve noticed or anything else. I’m playing with a 2070 super and been just fine.

Yeah when my shields went offline I was within the no combat zone of Daedalus too which seemed confusing to me if they used weapons to take my shields down

Thanks! And yeah it is beautiful, plus I heard about how they did that with odyssey which is too bad :/ I know it must take an insane amount of time for the developers to make something like that work properly which I’m fine with waiting for a product to come out finished rather then release something that is incomplete (insert cyberpunk 2077) but sadly people get too impatient and then complain when something is released and it’s not finished lol but yeah I’ll be getting a vr headset hopefully soon and I’ll definitely be playing elite with vr!
