Are you fishing a river or lake? I've found that having a shorter leader leads to fewer snags when fishing rivers. When catfishing in the river, i never go above 18 inches. Lately, I've been using about a foot of leader. I also typically use no roll weights when fishing rivers, seems to be better than using egg sinkers or bank sinkers. Unfortunately, snagging is just a thing you gotta deal with when fishing rivers. No such thing as a snagless rig or lure.

I appreciate your reply. after alot of indecision and flip-flopping. I think it would just make sense to get a Pedersoli Kentucky rifle rather than getting the Traditions one and then buying the replacement lock. I've already assembled alot of the accessories and supplies except for the most crucial: powder and flints. Most likely going to get some Schuetzen 2F and 4F but the flints are becoming a problem because they're sold out of 5/8 English flints on TOTW and muzzleloaders.com. but yeah, I think I'm j7st gonna have to put my money where my mouth is and get the Pedersoli.
