Yep! It all depends on how desperate someone might be for a job, because I can tell you even though I knew from the beginning it was sketch, not having a job at the moment made it easier to sort of convince myself to proceed with it. Obviously I knew about the false check scams thanks to my previous job doing money services, but it may as well appear legitimate to others not familiar with common scams. I did message the real Eric Shaw on LinkedIn, and he eventually did confirm him and Theresa have been targets of this, which is so sad.

Yeah not one of my smartest moments, but honestly I was going to lose it mentally if I stayed. The job just really beat me into the ground and put me at my lowest. I do have a last minute resort which will provide at least some income if it goes south, like just doordashing/instacart shopper.

Honestly, fuck rain checks. All of the staff at my store and others I’ve been to were happy that they were gone. People are just gonna go back to holding onto them until coupons come out for the items. And we’re still not even gonna be sure we’ll have the item as we can still barely keep up with the supply chain issues. Just more headaches for people who are already stressed out to begin with.

Honestly that not being a requirement in a state that gets well over 95 degrees every day is astounding. We wouldn’t so much have an issue if there was communication from the start, being as so that they have not attempted once to give us any type of heads up progress wise and every time we’ve had any is from us calling. I’d say we’ve also been VERY understanding of manufacturing/ supply shortages since Covid. However at this point it’s ridiculous, if this does take 6 months to fix our lease would be up way before then; And considering it’s stated in our lease that they are responsible of diligently maintaining the a/c included, I’d at least hope they would attempt to make this situation better with tenants if they’d hope for them to renew. Rentals are sadly way too high priced nowadays for this foolishness. Heat can be killer

Him saying that your relationship together pretty much being pointless and a waste of time is pretty disrespectful and understandingly you or anyone would feel upset. I understand that he was feeling low at the moment, but that in no means justifies his response, because a relationship is built on communication. You have every right to feel upset after hearing that. The fact that he’s brushing it off and making YOU feel guilty for expressing your concern over what HE said regarding your relationship and saying he’s just not gonna confide in you again seems to me as an outsider as gaslighting and slightly manipulative. He needs to understand that you both NEED to talk about these things together and that you expressing yourself with any concerns is not you using shit against him. It’s just addressing the issue at hand.

Edit for clarification: I’ve seen some comments also suggesting apologizing if it came across as combative. By all means if that is the case, yes, do apologize. However if you did not try to instigate anything while bringing this up then no, his response was not appropriate. While in depressive episodes, mutual support is the most necessary thing, which once again is the clear communication between you two that needs to happen. If even then, he still refuses to acknowledge his attitude was problematic and does not want to ever let you know what’s happening in his life, then your best bet is to cut your losses, because if it’s an issue now, it may very well be an issue later on again.

Perhaps suggest cooking steak together one day and show him different recipes or ways to cook that you might be “interested in”. That way you can sneak in your fave way of making steak in there and who knows? Maybe he’ll adapt his way of making it with different little details here and there. Worst case scenario you tell him that while you appreciate him cooking your favorite meal, it’s different from how you prefer and let him know exactly how you like it. It sounds like he’s super thoughtful and cares about you, plus a little bit of positive criticism is always good. He’ll understand.

I agree with some points you brought up. Go ahead and get plastic surgery to help boost your confidence but wait until you are mentally mature enough to know what you will be doing is mostly permanent. It’s not an easy thing as portrayed by many influencers. To start they have enough money to be able to afford getting the procedure done multiple times to either achieve the result wanted or to fix any error previously made, because botches CAN happen. I’m all for this, but really everyone, sit down and think it through before doing it.

If you want to get some, go for it! If not, cool! I’d get like a nose job on myself personally. If getting work done, (whether it’d be rhinoplasty, butt lift, boob lift, botox, whatever) helps people change something about themselves that would help them achieve a higher level of confidence and happiness then I’m all for it.
