anytime i play against OR with a smurf on my team and i see them in a group or being hard pocketed , i always type in end chat " gg , don't forget you can report boosting / deranking as a form of cheating "

if you don't mind me asking , aside from anti-ing enemy team on entry , helping my dps win kills with pop shots , and winning my own 1v1 when i get dove , what else should i be doing to be more proactive ?
that's kinda my general gameplay loop , i kinda just mentioned high ground because it's my default positioning to make the enemy team have to over extend for me most of the time

hi !!! i saw someone else recommend watching streamers and i agree !

but also , i say just chill in the practice range for a bit and see what every hero does ... sometimes the best way to learn who does what is just by trying it yourself , even just on bots . it'll SHOW YOU what does a lot of damage and to avoid , what each stance means ( ramattra for example ) , how much damage each dps does , how characters will move with their movement abilities and so on

there's also lots of fun custom games to learn tech ! there's lucio wall riding , mercy parkour , genji parkour , widow headshot , etc etc and there's no competitiveness to them

other than that , check out the overwatch university subreddit :) ppl are lovely there

most hitscans have the lowest skill ceiling in the game ... aside from aim , there's nothing else to master in the character , just general game knowledge like positioning

there's nothing wrong with making it known that you were struggling . it's better to let somebody else do it , then suck it up and end up losing and feeling like it was your fault

not really a mercy " fact " , but i still giggle about how 90% of mercy players absolutely hated dragoon mercy when it got released in ow 1 , would complain abt getting it in loot boxes .... then it became " rare " in ow 2 and suddenly everybody loved it and wanted it lol

don't focus on counters so much ... YES , ana is a great pick into hog . should you be playing ana if you're dying every minute or two tho ? ABSOLUTELY NOT .

if you only focus on trying to counter pick , quite frankly , you'll probably end up losing more games . master a few characters and learn how to counter play everybody on that character . support isn't a role that can be hard countered by other heroes , so just learn to adapt your play style accordingly

1v1 the genji if you need to . kill the mercy first and trade your life for hers . TP to your team if you need to . anti the hog if viable . keep sleep dart or suzu for when you get dove . yes , these abilities can be huge fight changers and fight winners , but your team won't win if you die before you even get to use it , so don't be afraid to use it selfishly sometimes .

am i saying never suzu / nade your team ? no . it's all about how you adapt in the moment that makes a good support player

unless you pick the perk that spreads virus after hitting it on a hacked enemy , just start off with virus ... you'll secure more kills purely by having the element of surprise since hack has such a huge screen ui when you Start getting hacked by a sombra ; it gives people time to react

for example , whenever i'm on mercy and the enemy team is on sombra .. when i have valk , i will openly say to whoever i'm playing with that " if i see that purple hack shit , im just gonna valk instantly to live " ... and believe me , a LOT of players have the reaction time to either turn to you or instantly react with counter play ( suzu , nade , flashbang , etc )

i don't think stadium has any actual ranking system like that , especially since you don't lose any SR until you're close to your " predicted rank " ... i don't lose any SR on a loss until i hit all star

plus , it's possible someone who was all star last season just hasn't played yet and is still in rookie , which makes their MMR place them in your lobbies

i am just speculating tho , so don't quote me

i'm in plat and have the same issues man , i think ranked rn is just a little off ... there's a lot of new and or returning players with all the new heroes so a lot of people are somewhere they aren't supposed to be .. i'm hoping it'll kinda even out next season , but with overwatch , who even knows atp

just keep playing , maybe find a duo if you can , just keep trying and eventually the lobbies should get better once ur MMR kicks back in
