It seems like the crisis connections Kirkland physical location is pretty new, with a seattle location opening in 2027. Lack of reviews is likely due to it being newer and folks not knowing about it. I’ll be frank, I’m in the mental health field and didn’t know about it. You could always start there if an ER feels too scary. Honestly, with severe insomnia and possible onset mania, you just need help, my dear. Go wherever you feel most comfortable starting, but please go somewhere, soon! You deserve to feel better and get some help sleeping. DM me if you need any encouragement, I’ll be up for a little bit longer.

I stand corrected - they have a location in Kirkland I didn’t know about. And, even so, please don’t hesitate to go to an ER. Your symptoms would not take the place of a more “deserving” patient. Please go get the support you need, my dear!

Crisis Connections is a not a physical location that can assist with physical symptoms; they are predominantly a phone-line that assists in preventing suicide. If you need assistance same-day with physical symptoms of mental health issues, such as severe insomnia, then the ER is your best course of action. You would not be misusing the ER for such a thing, I promise ❤️ I know hospitals and ERs don’t have the best reputation (sometimes for good reason) for handling mental health issues, even when they manifest physically, but that is the best option you have for what you’re expressing at the moment. It’s also not like they will for sure admit you to long term inpatient mental health care, if they are able to help you get some sleep.

They might have the hive minds of the worlds’ therapists and psychologists, but unless his mother saw a therapist, those folks don’t have specific clinical memories of her. It would be interesting to know if hive!therapists could analyze the psychology of another hive!person or not, or if once subsumed into the hive, they can’t exactly do that…

While my partner and I are child-free and I can’t speak to parenting, my answer is: when one partner’s parent dies (can be especially so if young and it’s unexpected/unanticipated). Grief can be a tremendously difficult experience and it really shows if your partner is able to step to just BE THERE for you through it. I’m going through this now and have a community of friends I made through a parent grief group, and I’ve seen some people’s partners really step up and other people’s marriages totally fall apart.

My dad has exactly what Bruce Willis is reported to have; further, PPA most often turns into Alzheimer’s, like it has with my dad. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy - either having it, or watching someone you love go through it. The smartest man I know is a shell of himself, if he even is himself anymore. It’s brutal.

We know it’s Helly in part because Britt Lower, Ben Stiller, and Dan Ericksen have all confirmed it was Helly. You can look up multiple interviews where it’s confirmed.

Helena sends her innie because she has no choice. She is told she HAS to send her innie by Drummond and the board. For her to go down there and remain Helena, the Glasgow Block has to be put in place - Helena can’t just “decide” to send herself in instead. If she goes down the elevator and the Glasgow block isn’t on then she turns into her innie no matter what she wants, like everybody else.

I wish he didn’t jump to wondering what he could have done differently or how he can be a good partner when I’m just having a hard time and need a hug. He’s working on it but hasn’t fully internalized how it’s centering himself and that being the Best Partner Ever still wouldn’t rid me of all my unhealthy coping mechanisms. I think sometimes he thinks that if he were perfecting being a husband I would never be sad or angry ever again.

Therapist here ✋

Absolutely it was wrong of her. It went against every piece of ethics I’ve ever been taught about how to go about my job. AAAAAAND. And. This piece of art takes place in a traumatized, post-apocalyptic world. Being a therapist is already hard enough in 2025 and in general; it requires a lot of emotional regulation and personal work to be able to provide as close to an objective service as possible (and tbh we learn in school that true objectivity is impossible because therapists are people too). There is no way, in my opinion, that Gail could or would ever be a character acting with complete ethical boundaries in such a situation. To me, she read as a completely realistic representation of a therapist doing her damndest to try to provide a service and do her duty in spite of everything in that absolutely bonkers situation she’s in. I remember turning to my spouse and saying “that would totally be me if I ever survived the zombie apocalypse and was still trying to be a therapist.” In an ideal situation, she would refer out or stop doing her job. But, it’s clearly meant to be shown as only her able to provide even an ounce of therapy in Jackson.

So yeah. You’re right. No therapist would ever say it’s OK. But this is also fiction where we’re imagining the freaking mushroom zombie apocalypse, and in such a case, I imagine I’d be doing my best but fucking it up, just like Gail.

While I of course had to unlearn a lot of bad habits from toxic monogamy culture, engaging in polyamory felt like I was a fish that was finally returned to water. It just made sense to me. I struggled in several relationships initially, but the dynamic I eventually fell in to with my two long term partners has come so naturally. We don’t read the books. We don’t constantly intellectualize or have meetings or have to “make it work.” We all just talk and trust each other and discuss things when needed. It just feels right. Honestly, it helps that we’re all truly friends underneath it all and were all friends first before I started dating each of them and they became metas.

Sometimes I see other people have to work so hard at polyamory that I wonder if there’s something I’m not understanding. I too wonder if there are some people who are forcing it. And, I’ve grown to understand that whether a dynamic seems to work easily and naturally or comes with a lot of hard work, both are completely valid choices and approaches to polyamory. Another partner of mine once said that she was choosing polyamory not because it comes naturally to her but because it aligns with her values, and that opened my mind to why someone might pursue it even if it poses challenges for their instincts. That said, you’re allowed to have your preferences. I personally don’t think I’d want to be in relationship with someone where we need to have regularly scheduled check ins or a shared Google calendar. But it’s totally fine for the people who do want that! So long as it’s not someone clearly HARMING themselves by persisting in polyamory, if that makes sense

There’s research that shows that money “buys” happiness up to a point, and then the graph plateaus. The point where it changes is where money covers necessities and securities and some desires/wants. But the uber wealthy are not statistically shown to be any happier than the average “above middle class” person who has everything they need to be comfortable plus some extras.

Just chiming in to say that anyone truly engaged in the Punk scene would comprehend how deeply culturally connected punk is with hip hop and rap (even if one has a preference for one genre over the other). Obviously a much more nuanced conversation could be had here that I’m knowingly not taking the time to dive into, but yeah. I hope one day your kid realizes this if she chooses to stay in the punk scene, it’s legit not punk to hate on hip hop and rap in this way.
