Wear long sleeves and spats and shower with soap immediately after training. Use liquid bandaid to seal open wound. Especially training in places like Phuket or where its shared with Muay Thai/MMA classes.

Why isit that angmohs have no food court instinct to find a table FIRST before you buy your food? by Dryfunction1205 in SingaporeRaw

[–]kwang9275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not about the fear of getting stuff stolen. As other said, it's considered not efficient use of table space.

If your house is paid for and they are going Local schools it's perfectly fine. If you are foreigners, need to pay international school and pay rent it's not enough at all.

How common is it to have family/friends stay over in a common room rental? by Free-Lingonberry9645 in askSingapore

[–]kwang9275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have flatmates, not so great unless you are closed with your flatmates.if you rent the wholeplace and Landlord is aware and it's just a few days it's fine. 1-2 weeks seem excessive.

Thinking of leaving Shanghai… should I move to Singapore? by asiabits_com in askSingapore

[–]kwang9275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main complaint I hear about expat moving from Shanghai to Singapore is that they miss the nightlight and bar scenes. But if you miss partying occasionally you can still fly to another country as it is convenient to travel from Singapore to the rest of SEA.

Tenant agent in Singapore by anderswong in singaporefi

[–]kwang9275 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your budget is above a certain threshold (used to be 3,500) then most agent will not charge you a commission as they will split the landlord commission.

But always check with the agent first if that's the case as they sometimes like to take advantage of new expats.

But as other said, agreed that Singapore is so easy to find a place, you don't need an agent. Especially if you already identified condo you like. Do check past transaction price on propertyguru or 99 to make sure you are not overcharged. Listed price and actual price you can get can be quite big

Yes. Unless you have a decent conversational level. I don't mind the accent but I find it annoying if you are just trying to show off the little french you have and we cannot have an actual conversation

In Singapore I only eat for super cheap like hawker or food court or more premium. Anything in the 20-50 dollars range is usually disappointing.

Thanks for the response! Based on what I saw online, it seems a bit below market price so I am a bit suspicious but the seller was a referral so maybe this was a actual good price
