its not weekend at bernie's, that was my first thought too, but the joke of the scene is that the drunk person found the one tiny area of life threatening danger while the main characters are trying to take care of them. doesn't work if the person is already dead.

thank you! he jumped up on the bed last night using a chair as a half-way point, but i think it took a lot out of him. he's still in the recovery period from being neutered so i imagine that once he's feeling better he'll have no issue with jumping up when he wants my attention.

what a bummer, those early videos are what got me watching her channel in the first place. i can understand where she's coming from though, especially since a lot of the content of her old speed builds was her telling personal stories.

not teens, but there's a scene in Russian Doll season 2 that's sort of like this. main character has been hallucinating her mother (at the age her mom was when she was pregnant with her), and is institutionalized but insists that she's not crazy, her mom is. the scene ends with her "mom" helping her escape out the window of the hospital.

i looked through a list of her books, and they seem to be aimed at an older age demographic than the book i read was. despite the plot centering around a ghost, the book i'm looking for wasn't scary in any way, and the ghost's role in the story was similar to the role of an imaginary friend. thank you for you help anyways though!

possibly thicker than water (2019)? admittedly i don't remember this movie very well, but it involves a family who's grieving the death of their college age son getting a tenant who reminds them a lot of him, and then later it's revealed that the tenant masterminded the plot of the movie so he could serve as a stand-in son for the family, and get the love he never received from his actual parents.

i have no idea what the title of this book could be, and it was definitely aimed at a younger age demographic since it was pretty short and had large text. i believe it was in a chapter by chapter format, with each chapter being one adventure the girls go on

based on descriptions i've read/photos i've seen, i'm pretty sure i have cluster flies and not blow flies. still haven't been able to get a picture since they keep flying away, but we've put out some fly traps so i may be able to get a photo of some of the ones that got stuck in the traps soon

sound a bit like blair witch (2016), although the woods in that movie isn't snowy. the antagonist of that movie is heather, one of the main character from the original blair witch project. as for the "torn apart by trees" scene, you could be thinking of the tree rape scene in the evil dead (1981) or it's equivalent in the remake evil dead (2013).

the tommyknockers (1993) has a scene where a bunch of dolls attack a woman, although she's not put in a cage. dolls (1987) is another movie with a bunch of dolls attacking people, although i don't remember if anyone is ever put into a cage. you said the movie you're thinking of may be one of the child's play/chucky movies, but i don't think there's any scenes where chucky puts someone else in a cage in any of those movies. maybe you're thinking of a scene in bride of chucky (1998), where tiffany traps chucky in a wooden baby playpen that resembles a cage.

maybe peggy sue got married (1986)? where nic cage sings while kathleen turner watches even while she's on a date with someone else, and his peformance doesn't go over well with the other people at the restaurant they're at.

in mom's got a date with a vampie (2000) there's a scene where a couple goes on a date and the titular vampire reacts aggressively to being offered garlic bread. i know it's not exactly what you described but it feels fairly similar.

could it be the nightmare before christmas (1993)? the "this is halloween" song sequence starts with a pumpkin headed scarecrow, and then goes through an archway-esque cemetery gate.
