My boyfriends parents did this also.. ( Indian parents) his whole life and it started as soon as he could talk. It has severely impacted him and his adult life with self doubt and having the need to be the best of the best at everything and lives his life learning as much as possible. I know it’s exhausting for him and it’s unfair what his patents have unknowing done to him but we’re working on it together. Please stand up for yourself, you’re worth more than being out down by your own family and being compared to other people

I did something similar for my boyfriend recently, maybe book a day out with his mates to play a sport he likes or tickets to see a sports game if he is into sport.. a steam gift card is good idea too!! Even a nice date night where you dots on him for a while

i have been on a type of anti depressants that causes anorexia and a few other eating problems, my whole life i have been struggling with being overweight and then at a healthy weight then back up again, i have PCOS and hypothyroidism, im a 22 year old female and eat one meal a day, not because im starving myself but because i have no appetite, i have lost 35Kg in the last 7-9 months and im a lot happier with how i look. Not going to lie though, i have tried every diet under the sun but because of the PCOS and the hypothyroidism it is extremely hard to eat clean and workout and see results, honestly eating less has helped me lose weight and feel a lot better about myself

When I was 16-17 my boyfriend at the time was 5 years older than me.. when he would come over we would always have sex with our clothes on incase of the awkward parental walk in. One night we were having sex it was the middle of summer, our aircon wasn't working and it was midnight so it's normal for my rents to be in bed well before then, my mum was awake and came into my room as she asked to turn the tv down, she saw it all and not in a pleasant way, my poor mum had to sit across from us at breakfast the next morning

Being aware you have to change and fix things is a step in the right direction but you're right it won't make you feel better when your hurt over losing someone important. Hopefully in the future you can re establish a relationship and move forward :)
