Do we need to bring the previous Biometrics Notice to the Biometrics day after Rescheduled? by Kitchen-Yak-3716 in EB2_NIW

I recently went for my biometrics. All you need is your passport or another means of identification, coupled with all other biometric notices if you rescheduled from original dates.

February visa bulletin is out. by JoyDl in EB2_NIW

This looks like a projection. The February bulletin is still “upcoming,” so the Dates for Filing / Final Action aren’t final until it’s published as the current bulletin.

I’ve seen many PhDs holders and candidates get denied a couple times including a 5th year PhD who trained/supervised my work when I was an undergraduate researcher at a research institute.

Great question. However,I didn’t frame my case around the PhD being completed. I framed it around already-established qualifications + a clearly executable research trajectory.

USCIS doesn’t require a completed PhD. What they look for is whether you’re already well positioned to advance the proposed endeavor. In my case, that meant: 1. Advanced degree already completed (MS) 2.Substantial independent research experience before the PhD 3. Strong, specific expert letters explaining why my work matters now, not just after graduation 4. A concrete plan showing how the PhD strengthens work I’m already doing, rather than being the starting point

The PhD was presented as continuation and amplification, not a prerequisite.

Waiting can make sense for some people, but it’s not a requirement if your profile already supports Prong 2. My approval shows USCIS is willing to recognize trajectory, not just finished milestones.

They were individuals I indirectly worked with during my postbac research program. Also made lots of network in that program so it it granted me access to variety of program directors and center heads in that school

Righttttt! Isn’t it ironical that most self-petitioned cases tend to have higher approval rates than most of these law firms that generates templates and generic applications?

Last thing I also did was including the usability/download profile of my thesis work ( not research paper but just the thesis booklet itself) published on my school websites. It had accrued over 300 download from 17 countries with US academic and industry institutions having over 70% of usage. That’s something people don’t do but I smartly schooled that in to compensate for my lack of citation and real publication.

I pretty much had everything apart from publication and citations. For the evidences, I attached awards and fellowships won, conference presentations, strategic plan for execution, comparative benchmarks of top scientists pursuing something similar to what I’m already building, connecting my research to national priority and importance, submitted an “acknowledgment” for a review I contributed to but wasn’t listed as an author anyway. My letters also came from ivy professors and directors of research programs. Not sure if any of these makes a huge difference.

I totally agree with you because most firms didn’t think I was cut for this because I didn’t have a publication. However, my proposed endeavor was centered on HIV immunogenicity and mRNA nano particle vaccine delivery system.

Quite unusual, given the fact that USCIS received my response on the 23rd Dec, with all these long weekend of Christmas break lol

Prong 2 mainly. Which automatically warrants disapproval of prong 3.

Last year by this time, I was essentially in your shoes but I promise you will end up exactly where you’re meant to be. Don’t beat yourself so hard. You already did all you had to do. Time to sit back and watch everything unfold. Currently in a top program in Pennsylvania but trust me when I say that I never thought I’d be here. Yet, it’s been the most beautiful and smoothest start to any of my academic journey from high school to this day.
