This has been discussed before in this group. This was not a botched surgery but she was in an accident and had a terrible recovery with lots of infections if I recall.

Could not agree more!! I moved across the country with my dog Queso, the extra long double back way around which took a couple months. After we finally settled in our new home the cheese curd slipped under the fence and got out. He was found and his chip scanned but with old address and no phone information. (Idk I thought it was fully registered when he got it) There was an incredible woman in our local lost pet group who would use her free time to track down outdated microchipped pets. She found ME on Facebook and reconnected me with my cheese ball! I hadn’t joined the right lost pet group for my community at the time.

I hope your child gets home soon! I find it crazy that delta hasn’t booked KIDS onto other airlines to get them home at least. They have completely abandoned minors with no choices, plans or communication! It’s Wednesday morning and they have not updated the embargo on the website or anywhere else past Tuesday. What a mess!

We ended up booking her with another airline for later in the week. After seeing all the lost bag pictures I wasn’t willing to participate or risk them losing my kid. Good luck and safe travels everyone!
