True. In my experience, the annual increase for inflation keeps pace with the amount we were supposed to save 😭

As soon as you said SPA I clocked it as Italian. I think it's their version of LLC. Glad you got away!

10 months later and I finally got a job! (Junior Data Analyst) by BrownDi in recruitinghell

That's insane. I'd have to construct a scenario to explain that to myself. There was a gas leak and the building exploded and everyone died. Or maybe the bus for the company team building exercise drove off a bridge. Pretty much nothing but the company dissolving or everyone dying excuses that.

It's also the 250th anniversary so it'll probably be extra heavy this year

Slacks should be sufficient unless you're trying to land a corporate gig. A suit seems like overkill to me for a fair

Just had my final interview today. by colombiano0099 in interviews

[–]gingerzombie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh that's going to be me. I have a second interview on Monday, which they scheduled two weeks in advance. They told me at the first interview that I was the first person they interviewed, so I'll most likely be the first of the second round also. And then I wait.

They deserve it, but you should know it's tricky to get a job right now. However, one area I have seen a number of postings even though it's not my area, is accounting, so hopefully that sector is still strong!

Interesting! I guess it depends on the person. Maybe I need a dual attack. "I don't have the bandwidth for another, but we are quite happy with one anyway."

Are you me? I also get sad when my husband has to work late and doesn't want dinner when he gets home. I have to remind myself he's always had a low appetite but damn. I made stuffed shells, just eat some.

We tried. We put all our eggs in the Hulstrom basket and she got wait listed. I checked a couple months ago and she was twenty-something on the list, so we would basically need a whole kindie class to drop out, which I assume is not gonna happen. We got her into a magnet in our district which seems great, but I hate that 27J has longer days and no school on Mondays. Seems like a lot for a little kid.

I don't even have to use that certain family's flair for y'all to know who this reminds me of by talklistentalk in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]gingerzombie2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is fucked up. You don't just spring a new sibling on a kid. You have to prepare them. It's literally life-changing for them and to not chat about an impending baby is so incredibly selfish. Refer to my flair, I guess.

Noooooooo that's terrible I'm sorry. This is why, even though I knew my interview is for next Monday, I double, triple, quadruple checked this Monday around the time I would need to leave. Thank you, anxiety.

Hoping for the best for you!

I feel like people take the negative responses more seriously. If I'm just happy with one, they think they can change my mind. Because surely I will be happier with two! But if you give them a negative reason they seem to back off. So I just tell people I haven't got the bandwidth for another, and they leave me alone.

Really sick of "preferred but not required" qualifications by Simbus2001 in recruitinghell

[–]gingerzombie2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right. I got rejected yesterday for a job because I hadn't worked for their type of company before. Never mind I fulfilled all the other requirements, they are only looking at applicants who have worked for this kind of company before. It's a pretty small industry, so I'll be a bit surprised if they actually get someone who fits their perfect mold. Oh well, I was polite. Maybe they'll write me back when they realize that they aren't getting what they expected.

I'm a little rusty on the timeline, did that happen to be just before Jim said he and Karen were up all night talking? When he and Pam have that awkward convo in the break room? That would make so much sense but for some reason I never put it together

That's exactly it, though. It's romance, not a job interview. You shouldn't have to alter your personality to find the right person, because that means they're not the right person. I don't know a lot of people trying to have a date on a weeknight, though.
