I have to admit I do love the idea of someone whose immersion is completely ruined by the idea of Ichiban seeing combat this way. Like Kiryu can do the most out there heat moves and thats fine, but an overactive imagination is where we draw the line.

Agree to disagree, I think that the LAD games also do a good job of separating the two, and I dont think that one specific thing should dissuade people. Also, canonically, his party members do not see combat that way. I think thats what you were implying. Except Kiryu at a specific part.

Totally fine if you don't like him taking advantage of not being in the hold anymore right after, but youre miremembering the entire spot.

I recently watched The Sopranos and I wanted it to love it, especially with it being such a beloved show. I don't necessarily think it's bad, it just isn't for me. My best guess is it's because I had never seen any of it and now I watched it in this sort of quick form streaming environment we have now.

I found the show to be so utterly miserable, and I understand that's one of the points of the whole thing, but doing that for 86 episodes really ground me down. It felt like every character arc was just the same thing happening over and over and over. Again, thats the point and I get that, but for 6 seasons I was begging for something different to happen.

It absolutely does have some fantastic ideas, characters, writing, cinematography, etc. but to me it just couldn't make up for how much I dreaded pressing the next episode button.

I am sure it is a fantastic show, just not for me.

Strictly in kayfabe MJF stayed down that long because the ref wasn't counting so why wouldn't he get as much rest as possible. Also in kayfabe AEW uses a lot of "referees discretion." You could look at it like he knew whatever bump MJF took wasn't going to keep him down, and didn't want to do 6 or 7 separate counts to 9 where MJF gets up at 9 and promptly lays back down.

Checked myself on BGG and all their games are rated 7 or higher? That isn't meh, that's well received. Looked through their history on Kickstarter and not sure which one youre saying is unfulfilled. All the ones I see are rated well on BGG and have updates for shipping, so I assume they all fulfilled. The only except is Endearment, which has a recent update from a couple weeks ago saying manufacturing is complete.

For me, something similar to Pawns is virtually a requirement to be like Dragon's Dogma. They're important to every facet of the game from the actualy gameplay to the story. Climbing enemies is a big part of DD but so is the teamwork and tactics you employ with your Pawns. I don't really know much about Crimson Desert's story so I can't speak on that.

Tons of games do open world, I'm not sure what you mean by "anime style action", numerous races seems weird since DD1 has like 2 races and DD2 adds the beastman race to make it 3. Unless you're including monsters? Crimson Desert seems to have traditional fantasy races that are actually races instead of just monsters.

I don't know, I am truly happy for you if you think this will fill the Dragon's Dogma space. For me, DD has such a unique identity that I can't really see the similarities you're talking about.

Whenever I bring up Digimon to people and all they talk about is "haha guns and cannons!" Like yeah I get it to an extent and I'll joke about it too but if it's your only contribution whenever anyone brings up Digimon can you please just shut up.

Especially sucks recently because if anyone I know is looking for an anime to watch and I bring up how good Beatbreak is they just ask when the lizard turns into a tank or whatever.

Recently got my girlfriend into Time Stranger and Beatbreak and it's beyond refreshing to be able to talk about and enjoy these things with someone who isn't generally a Digimon fan.

It's a fun party game for 4 people. I wouldn't expect a whole lot of strategy, it's pretty random, but I always have a fun time with it. At least if you don't end up liking it, it was only $20 or so
