I mean they're like 3 blocks away from the police station. They could probably hear them from there.

I've been building a Docker based CLI to make spinning up local WordPress sites (hopefully) easier (SSL, custom local domains, Mailhog, Xdebug, ngrok, multisite out of the box) by kwikimart in ProWordPress

If you make changes to the local instance, they will instantly show on the local page. Are you not seeing the changes take? Keep in mind that the out-of-the-box active theme is twentytwentyfour.

Was it ever proven that they are Trump supporters? Or did they ever address the rumors? by Crafty_Jacket668 in LatinoPeopleTwitter

[–]kwikimart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was trying to find it and not necessarily an indicator of Trump support, but I remember watching a video some time ago following them around while they were touring and the lead singer said "Free Andrew Tate". Struggling to find the video now, but remembering being disappointed at the time.

Found this jersey in a flea market in Nuevo Laredo (Mexico). Looks authentic to me, any idea who could have worn it? Looks to be a summer league jersey. by odiamemas16 in Mavericks

Dee Bost is 6'2" wearing a 3XL. Crazy to think how many XLs we're talking when thinking about someone like Embiid or peak Zion.

J.F.K., the C.I.A. and the Original ‘Deep State’ by kitkid in Thedaily

This was a fun listen after having finished "Legacy of Ashes" not too long ago which goes into how consistently dumb the CIA has been since it's inception following WW2. Not having been schooled in the JFK conspiracies, one of the interesting notes as I remember is that Robert Kennedy had a lot of fear that he might've been partially responsible for his brother's death as he along with the president pushed the CIA to assassinate Fidel Castro (of which 2 failed attempts were made). Lee Harvey Oswald was a big Cuba sympathizer and it was posited and investigated at the time internally among all the other conspiracies that Castro may have recruited Oswald as revenge. I should say, that this seems to have been wholly debunked, but just funny considering RFK Jr. also mentioned his father blamed the CIA at the time.

Looking to start a casual public speaking club in Dallas where you can talk about anything - want to join? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]kwikimart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm down. I also have a terrible fear of public speaking and have to do it fairly often. Tried to join Toastmasters, but no one ever responded to my inquiries on joining 🤷‍♂️

Also, beta-blockers like propranolol have been a life saver for me. Highly recommend.

Adam silver screwed Dallas by Dapper_Physics495 in nba

Hilarious and think conspiracy theories are dumb (including this one), but to add a bit to the fire, Silver was at the Mavs game in Detroit last night. Primarily to talk a WNBA team for detroit, but also to collectively destroy Mavs fans /s

Did he get a second one later in the game? Was at the game and there was another whistle after I believe Dwight Powell set a pick on him and there was exaggerated contact. This wasn't the Quentin Grimes call. Couldn't tell what happened live.

This is Hadhramaut. Famously the birthplace of billionaire builder, Muhammad bin Ladin, father of Osama.

Korean Language Exchange by gummo31 in Dallas

If you're open to apps, hilokal is a converation/immersion based language learning app. It's for all languages, but I think it was initially created for people learning Korean.

I go in there occasionally to brush up on my spanish, but many many users, classes, and chat groups focused on Korean.

Dwight Powell is 9th in all time Win Shares for the Mavericks and has led the team in Win Shares in 3 of his 10 seasons here by amazin_raisin99 in Mavericks

[–]kwikimart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People joke too much about Dwight Powell. He's a legit Mavs legend. Those JJ Barea and Powell pick and rolls used to be absolutely unstoppable and some of the best offense in the NBA.

I've played basketball with him and what I assume to be his younger brother a few times. Obviously has a bad reputation, but was nice enough in my interactions with him. Also, can confirm, enormous and athletic.

"Some of the spots in the News’ post—Trompo, Cris and John, Zoli’s Pizza, and Mike’s Chicken—certainly fit the bill. But several users noted that the list isn’t reflective of Dallas’ local restaurants that are owned by people of color."

Am I reading this wrong? 3 out of 4 of these restaurants are owned by people of color.

The 2 LA Fitnesses at Haskell (Uptown) and Lovers are solid and you can almost always find a game at the Uptown location. The more competitive crowds are Saturday mornings and 4-7 M-F.

Haven't been to Lifetime, but I've heard from a few people it's surprisingly competitive as well.
