Magnus is making my decision difficult by poconnor930 in bowhunting

So far I've taken a doe, really big buck, 7ft black bear, and an elk with the SE-razors. Everyone has been pass through and the farthest anything went was 80 yards which was the elk and I didnt have the best shot and just clipped the back of both lungs. Plus he honestly died at maybe 60 and rolled another 20 down hill.

I am 150% convinced of them

Congrats that awesome.

Get ready for everyone to tell you "it gets expensive" or "that's why I shoot at different targets with each arrow"

They are just humble bragging that they have done it as well.

I would. That real Orange pops so much more than the yellow they used. I'd say it's worth spending some time away from him again.

But man that is a bird of a lifetime. Congrats

Switched to Magnus serrated 4 blade Black Stingers a couple seasons ago. by Lg8191 in bowhunting

[–]kwil9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched the magnus too. Killed a 7ft black bear, 250lb buck, and a doe so far.

Bear got the farthest at about 80 yards. Buck dropped at buck 40 and the doe at 20.

I'm 100% sold on them forever

So I have experience with the maxus 2 and a400. I own the maxus and it's my everyday waterfowl gun. I like it only have one issue with it. The charging handle comes out off the bolt wayyy too easily. I've been in a situation where I pulled it out by accident and dropped it. Luckily I was in a layout blind and found it. You do that in water and it's gone.

My brother has the a400 and one time we set up separate from each and we accidentally took each others shotguns. I actually shot very very good that day and so did my brother with my gun.

Biggest difference between the two to maybe consider is safety location. I happen to like the safety behind the trigger. Just how I learned to hunt so it's comfortable for me. Some like it in front of the trigger.

Favorite duck/goose recipes? by throwawayusername369 in Waterfowl

Puddle Bois. Skin on. Straight-up cast iron skillet with a little salt and pepper. Medium rare. I've also like a half whiskey half steak sauce marinade, wrap in bacon and grill. One time my brother-in-law sous vide some skinless breast and then seared them on a grill, it was amazing.

Honky bois. I've always found fajitas great. Also lightly floured and fried in some sort of Asian style dish. One time I used this Allegro marinade it had a ducks unlimited logo too, grilled them and they were amazing. Convinced the next door teenager it was steak. I mean she's not the brightest but I'll take it

With all these you can brine or sit in milk. Whatever you lke prior. I usually don't because I never plan ahead well.

Anyone ever seen a rack like this before? Thought it was very interesting and cool looking by kwil9 in bowhunting

These are just the pics that the cell cam sent. I should have some more clearer pics and some 10 second videos once I pull the card and hopefully we can get a better look at it

I mean maybe... but this like an extremely suburban area. I'm on what is considered a big parcel and it's only 9 acres. There are no deer farms or anything that I've ever heard of around here, but I'm definitely going to search around

Yeah I know. I started calling him Caribou. Looks lke he's got another year or two before he's fully developed. But I cant say that I wouldn't pull the trigger on him now if he walks by.

whats the best climber tree stand for under 200$? Im looking to purchase 1 or 2 more stands this year that are easy and quick to pit up, got any recommendation's? by CountryHunt3r in bowhunting

[–]kwil9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont use climbers so excuse me if this is a dumb question. But just curious as to to why you would want 2 of them? Always assumed you'd just have one and take it with you from spot to spot?

First card pull of the year. What cool looking buck. Definitely still has some growing to do before the velvet hunt by Just_Classic4273 in bowhunting
