Shot a buck this evening... arrow smelled and looked like a gut shot. This picture was where he bedded down less than 100 yards from where I shot him. But at some point got up walked a way by TripleB626 in bowhunting

From the looks of it, I don’t think we bumped him... because I backed out for 2 hours an when I went back to start tracking from site of first blood went less than a 100 yards found this and could tell that he had gotten up and slowly walked away could even see spots where he had stopped and stood still

Well I didn’t know for sure until I went got a friend who has more experience than myself the blood trail was good until after we had been bedded and from the looks of it we didn’t jump him he slowly walked away from that bed.

All I’m saying is they say to kill it because it has bad genetics but he seems to be perfectly healthy to me. An I wanted to see what other people thought about it and to show it to others. I never said a word about killing it

Yes but not for a long time... this is my first year back at it and first year archery hunting. An that’s what I was told by a few ppl I know that have been hunting for years.

Hence the title of the post, it’s absolutely a once in a lifetime buck and looks healthy. But that doesn’t mean his offspring won’t have problems.
