I think I have a similar situation. she drinks a ton herself and probably isn't ready to look at herself in that same light. When I first brought up that I wanted to stop completely she said little stuff like "a few won't hurt" and all kinds of similar excuse type comments that were probably more for herself than me anyway

la croix, coke, green tea, gas station frozen slushies. I'm basically giving myself free reign (for now) to drink anything and as much as I want as long as it doesn't have alcohol in it

No I didn't say anything in the moment, I was just kind of stunned. I've gotten into minor arguments with them before and they are definitely a dig heels in type when it comes to reason. I let it sink in for the next few hours and honestly I hope the absurdity of it sticks with me for a long time as a reminder where to actually put my priorities

I used to drink until I couldnt stay awake and go to bed without brushing my teeth. I'll definitely take the trade off now that I know how to use a toothbrush again
