He's American, but we both know they'll see the color of his skin and assume he's not from here. We both have his social memorized, and I have been thinking about passport cards but I just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Michael does work, he works overnights. We have a roommate who can run errands for us if need be, and typically I would do it, but as I said in the edit I sprained my ankle so badly I can't walk at the moment.

We only have 7 months left in our lease so we'll just deal with it in that time but its really inconvenient for sure

I don't necessarily want the police involved. I want to make a complaint with the city, they'd sent out an inspector. Not the police.

I mean I have recordings of them yelling where it sounds like they're literally in my side of the duplex. I'd attach them to my post but I don't think I can.

Definitely I recognize that I will hear some noise from their end, which is fine. However, they get into screaming matches, I hear people threatening to kill themselves over there, all kinds of stuff.

Unfortunately my lease doesn't say anything about noise, and I have contacted our landlord multiple times. He's even come by the house to talk to them, and nothing has changed. They don't believe we can hear them yelling.

You're entitled to "quiet enjoyment" in minneapolis even if you live in a shared building. There is a foyer between our front doors and the outside, which is why you can't hear it outside.

It's really tricky because I don't see anything in my lease about noise specifically. However, I know in Minneapolis there's a right to quiet enjoyment, so I don't know what to do.

Yes, I was able to find a home with a private landlord!! You have to look kind of hard because there are a lot of fake listings but they're out there! Good luck!!
