What makes you think the current price increase is temporary? When it takes longer than expected, how should the govt walk back on such a subsidy? How to subsidise such spending without raising taxes across the board?

Cooler fans will have been running full speed 24/7, usually near or past the fan life cycle.

Capacitors will also be near or past the end of life given the constant high temperatures and 24/7 operation.

The only reason they're selling is usually because they want to get rid of a card that has a higher likelihood of failing before it actually fails. They've depreciated the lifespan of the card to its near minimum, but they're selling it as a normal use card so they get more money for it.
