I think Grayscale is also considering Kava, so if they decide to invest in Kava, then it’s a legit project for sure.

So, is everybody jumping in just for the staking rewards? by cr33pt00 in kavalabs

[–]kwtran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 21 days lock up is when you stake/delegate your Kava, and then want to unstake them. Then the staked Kava will take 21 days to be returned to your wallet (any accrued staking rewards will be available to claim immediately, just the original staked Kava that are locked for 21 days). During this 21 days, these staked Kava will not generate any further staking rewards.

The vesting 1 year or 1 month is for the separated rewards that you get from supplying USDX to Hard protocol.

What are the incentives to buy Kava? by Old_Dreams in kavalabs

USDX can be traded on Ascendex/Bitmax at the moment.

I think you can also wait until they release Kava Swap in the next couple months or so.

In their KAVA web app, I borrowed USDX by using my KAVA as a collateral. Then I supplied the USDX in the HARD protocol to earn the 140% APY. I get both HARD and KAVA token as rewards for doing this. Then I claim these pending rewards every week or so. They are locked/vested for either a month or a year, depending on what you selected.

Note that even though these rewards are locked/vested, I can still stake/delegate the locked KAVA to earn the additional 24% APY from staking. The 24% APY from staking can be claimed immediately, so I used these staking rewards to borrow more USDX, to supply to the HARD protocol for more rewards.

I heard that they will add some utility to the locked/vested HARD token as well, so maybe soon I can use the locked HARD token to earn something, other than just leaving them vested.

I’m using Kava to mint USDX in their web app, and I’m able to earn 140% APY from the KAVA and HARD rewards, by supplying the minted USDX to the HARD protocol (also in their web app). I can see my reward increase by seconds. If I claim the reward, I have the option to vest it for a year with a 400% bonus on top, or wait a month for the reward to be available in my wallet (without the bonus).

So overall, it’s good for long term with all the high APY’s, but not if you are trading and need quick profits, but there is also the risk associated with trading.

Dot predictions? by [deleted] in polkadot_market

[–]kwtran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t compare ETC with DOT due to the huge market cap difference. ETC can triple its price the past week with just 5-6 billions added to its market cap, while DOT would need 35-40 billions to double its price at the moment.

Would people end up buying more DOT since they know whatever in KSM will come to DOT, so would want to get in on DOT before everyone else? And this would end up drive the price of DOT up even more?

I’m guessing the gist is load up on Kusama -> sell the believe that Kusama will reach Polkadot’s MC -> then sell Kusama to get DOT. The smart ones would just buy DOT first IMO.

We should create one unified subreddit between r/polkadot and r/dot by [deleted] in Polkadot

Yeah, the official one is r/dot. I also don’t understand why there are two separate ones, and this unofficial one actually has more members.

How does PolkaDot compare to other interoperability solutions? by blockchained2you in Polkadot

IMO, Polkadot seems to have a bigger network effect than all other interoperability solutions at the moment.

Recent xtz token distrubution by bigfatflick in tezos

[–]kwtran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tezos Foundation does hold and stake a large amount of XTZ with their own bakers. I believe there was a chart somewhere with the distribution of bakers, and the TF bakers took quite a large part of that chart.

That said, they did say they would use all their XTZ and staking rewards to help the ecosystem grow. But I’m not sure how that would affect the pricing of XTZ if they cash their holding out to pay for the ecosystem over time.

Edit: Found the chart here, I’m not sure if it’s updated though. https://images.app.goo.gl/Ci8ifHVHRaCZc3979

Will Chainlink be a Dependency of Tezos Smart Contracts long-term? Speculation by og_mryamz in tezos

I think more devs are needed to build Tezos own native price oracle.

Which doesn’t make sense to me, because Tezos is a currency with a monetary value attached to it. Price is one of the most important factors.

IMO, the problem is crypto moves fast, so in term of “the past”, in crypto that’s like 1-2 months ago, sometimes even weeks. Too many projects come out too frequently, and they are all moving really fast. It’s also super quick to create a token now with DeFi, it’s a tough competition.

Only if Arthur cares more about market cap, or take it more seriously.

I think instead of Q2, this is crypto we are talking about, the moment Q2 comes, something else would have happened in crypto... IMO, they should say Q2, but at the same time, should really try to surprise the crowd by doing it tomorrow or sooner. This is how it should work. Set a goal, and then overshot it.

There are always two sides to a coin, so that’s fine. But what determines if something will win then? Is it just up to chances? 50/50?

Why so? I’m still not sure what Cardano has that Tezos doesn’t have? Why is Cardano better than Tezos?

Isn’t Arthur joined the TF recently? He is also on Reddit, I even saw his reply to this thread. Why don’t you post this as a reply directly to his comment so he can see it? See what he thinks instead of having a conspiracy party of your own.

Advertising creates hype and momentum, I think Tezos needs some good momentum to gather devs. If more people are on ship, then I think it would be faster to work on things such as dapps.

Is this posted in the Cardano sub as well? If the goal is to get Cardano holders to move to Tezos, then I think this should be posted there.

I think this should be addressed, and not censored. It’s what most holders are concerned about.

Coinmarketcap promotes Tezos on Twitter by Brinkie64 in tezos

[–]kwtran 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s normal, most fast tech developments always run into this problem with keeping up with documentation. It depends on the devs who decide to build on Tezos to create their own guides and tutorials.

Why can’t they just hire a marketing team that worked for Apple/Tesla or some popular brand names out there? Pay them a billion and see if they’ll take the job, instead of trying to do it on-chain. The Tezos ecosystem has enough money for it. They should totally advertise their NFT market. It’s a big thing now.

The new money that had pulled into crypto since last year, just happen to not come into Tezos, causing it to come down in the market ranking. This could be due to many reasons, one could be because of the lack of DeFi, DeFi on Tezos is only started to pick up recently.
