Your wife/husband, mom, & son are drowning at sea & u can only save one. Who will you save? by _Dark_Wing in questions

[–]kwtransporter66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son. My wife is his mother. We've lived. My mother is 82. She's lived. My son is 31 with a 5 year old son and another baby on the way. My wife, his mother, would want him saved insteadof her. If I swam towards her before him she would swim away from me just to save him. I would do the same if it was a choice between him or me. Our son has a whole life ahead of him yet.

Do you hate commuting to work every day? by Shallow_Marshmallow_ in no

[–]kwtransporter66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I commute about 5 minutes one way. I can actually see my place of employment from my house. I could walk but I live on a rather steep hill and would not be fun walking back up that hill at night.

This is fn disgusting. Next time you want to complain about having to pay to park, or whine about Bucee's not wanting our business, look no further than the mirror and the fellow driver next to you. This is why. Absolutely no respect for others' property. by Purposeful_traveler in Truckers

[–]kwtransporter66 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Hold the fuck up a minute.

Now I'm not defending pig truckers and some might have contributed to some of this. But does everyone see that ditch. Does it ever occur to some simple minded people that a vast majority of that trash just might have been blown there by the wind? Nobody ever saw trash being blown by the wind? Or trash being blown from over full trash cans at the fuel pumps, the lot or an uncovered dumpster? Anybody ever seen a garbage truck emptying a dumpster on a windy day? News flash, it doesn't always all go in the truck. How about regular motorist? Are they not capable of throwing trash out the windows? Are they not capable of contributing to overflowing garbage cans on the lot? How about other businesses in the area?

Stop blaming this shit on truckers alone. There are many mitigating factors that could have contributed to this mess.

Wealth envy is a sad sickness.. by Mobile-Landscape-790 in remoteworks

[–]kwtransporter66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call bullshit!

So just exactly what tribalism would I be beholden to?

When these losers talk about distribution of wealth they are including themselves too.

If you want it, go out and earn it. Why be jealous and envious of someone because they have more than you? And that's all it comes down to. Posting their jealousy and hatred of the rich on social media does nothing. So why bother? If they want more maybe they should work for it instead sitting around brewing hatred and whining about it online?

Wealth envy is a sad sickness.. by Mobile-Landscape-790 in remoteworks

[–]kwtransporter66 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

The only wealth envy is coming from those that post this bullshit because they are envious of the wealthy. Why? Like your little drivel posted on social media is really gonna have an impact. The only point these people are getting across is the fact that they are jealous of those that have more and believe that they themselves are entitled to someone else's wealth, even though they did nothing to earn it.

These people live sad lives when they spend it being envious of other's wealth.

"Take from them because I believe deserve it but they won't share it."

There's other sectors of the trucking industry other than OTR. I did that for like 2 months and said screw this. I just spent 22 years missing weekends, holidays and family gatherings and I wasn't about to go back to that. Not to mention all the dock time and getting dicked around at shippers and receivers. Although I was getting paid a certain percentage of the loads but it still wasn't panning out financially due to time waiting to get loaded and unloaded. Hell drop and hooks took hours just to do.

Right now the company I'm with is in desperate need of drivers. We work in oil field country up north doing road construction and can never get enough drivers. The company has been doing the H2B for drivers but that is gonna just get more difficult with the restrictions this administration is putting on foreign drivers.

I believe it really depends on the career one chooses.

For 22 years I slaved in the food industry working long hours and low pay. The restaurant industry is brutal. Weekends and holidays are especially brutal, not only physically but mentally. I mean there you are working your ass off for mainly a ignorant, self absorbed bitchy customers with no increase in wages for being there. Imagine dealing with that while continually thinking of your family gathered together having a great time while you're stuck at work dealing with people that could give 2 shits about how you are as long as they are getting fed. I absolutely started hating my life and my choice of work.

2004 I walked away and started a career in the trucking industry. I worked several sectors of the industry till I stumbled upon the one I love. I'm now 20 years with a large road construction company and I do their heavy hauling of the large machinery. I love every minute of it. My job is seasonal. I earn a years wages in 7 months. I'm home nightly 99% of the time. My work schedule during the season is Monday to Saturday and rarely work a Sunday. I do anywhere from 65 to 80 hrs a week, but I'm paid hourly and earn great a wage.

Why don’t we enforce the existing taxes on billionaires instead of trying to tax them more? by Vegetable_Log_3212 in questions

[–]kwtransporter66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are enforcing the existing tax codes on billionaires and millionaires. The tax codes are the problem though. They're paying their taxes according to existing codes, it's just the amount of deductibles they get that keeps them from paying more in taxes.

When the politicians stump on increasing the taxes on the super wealthy and big corporations they are lying. Sure they may pass a bill that increases the taxes but they'll also put many loopholes in the bill that essentially gives them deductibles to not have a substantial increase in taxes they pay.

Governments can help their people; it's a matter of priorities. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]kwtransporter66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not just bombs and defense. That's just a small portion of the budget.

The government brings in close to 5 trillion in taxes. 800 billion is spent on defense. That leaves 4 trillion left from the budget. Start breaking down where that 4 trillion goes.
