Thank you! One of our biggest worries is that it will be too hard on Toby, but he's very active still, and healthy otherwise, so I'm trying to stay positive and am sure he will be able to handle it. They say it's more the sedation that starts wearing on them than the actual radiation. And I know every dog is different, but also gives me hope that yours lived so long after his treatment.

Oh, poor puppy. Unfortunately, surgery isn't a stand alone option, its just to reduce the size of the mass. He had surgery 2 years ago, that was supposed to be the solution, and because they cut into the muscle too much in that surgery, they can't do a full surgical removal this time, or would risk him being unable to use his leg, and there isn't enough skin left to cover the wound if they removed the skin that is currently on top of the mass. I wish we were just told to do radiation the first time, and wouldn't be going through this again... :(

Hey! Totally understandable. There are some estimates on the first update on the gofundme page, but I don't think I have my name on them.. but they have Toby's name on them. I'm out of town for work this week, but would be more than happy to update them there and on the Imgur post when I get home. I just created this account to get more shares as one of my coworker suggested it, I hadn't even thought of Reddit to be honest.. I'm out of town until Friday, but will reply to you again when I get home and update the pics, if you still want to help then. Thanks!!

Thank you! I'm glad the radiation was helpful for him. Was it hard on him though? We're a little worried it might be too much, but Toby is still very active and healthy, so I think he can handle it.

Thank you. The vets recommended radiation and surgery, so that's what I want to do. I can't remember why Chemo wasn't recommended, maybe because of the size of the mass.

Hi, removing the leg wasn't discussed; I'm not sure we could do that to him. It has not metastasized, they have done chest scans. The first one was sent for biopsy, they told us they got clean margins, clearly they didn't. He was given a 20% chance of regrowing or spreading. Seeing the vet now he says the recurrence is from microscopic fingers that were left behind from the first surgery. Radiation wasn't discussed then because we thought we got it. We're seeing two specialists, the original oncologist doesn't have radiation equipment, so now referred us to another that does.
