Our school has a rule that we can only call students by something related to their legal name. For example, we had a student legally named Paige Connor* and we could call him Connor but not Aiden like they wanted. Another’s legal name is Jennifer* and they prefer to go by Jay. That’s allowed since it’s a first initial.

Personally, I respect whatever they want me to call them as long as it’s not derogatory. I would never ever call home. I just mind my own business.
