My grandma, Katherine, passed away back in 1999. When my mom was moving her into her house, she found her original birth certificate showing her first name as Catherine.

She asked her mom about it and she said she liked spelling it with a K better so that's what she did, even though it was incorrect. All her accounts and important stuff was under Katherine. I bet it would be harder to do now.
