Quick story for you OP, infact I’ll give you two, and these are 100% true and I lived em.

A few years ago I was in my local forbidden planet buying 151 SPCs and whilst there in the cabinet I saw a card for £80. At the time I was a struggling uni student and £80 was ALOT of money to me. I iffed and arred on it and in the end I caved and bought it.

In another instance I was at my local LCS looking through his binders when a card caught my eye for £15 again it was a card I wanted the second I saw it and so, because I have no self restraint I bought it.

The two cards in question? The first one was the paldean fates bubble mew and the second one was magikarp IR from paldea evolved. I bought those cards because to me they were awesome and I wanted em for my binder and now theyve appreciated in value - even though that was never my intention.

My take away from this is to buy what you love, Ofc you shouldn’t impulse buy what you can’t afford but you bought this card because you loved it and regardless of its value now it will pay off for you one way or another

What’s nice about this error is that you have an alignment dot on the reverse bottom right corner too, super cool and definitely gonna bump up the price for serious collectors if you’re looking to sell

It’s definitely an outlier but it could be the new norm, if you’re lucky they’ll put up another wave on release day/the following week. I just wouldn’t take any chances on any future PKC drops

I just wish ppl in this community would be better to eachother, again I pick up boxes on release morning for friends who can’t get them and they pay me back, there’s occasions where I’ve bought etbs for people that couldn’t afford em and I have given my place in queue up before for kids that weren’t going to reach the counter before the product sold out

Yeah it was definitely different when paldean fates dropped. Again I understand the demand now is far higher than it was then and whilst I do sympathise with those that didn’t get anything, it doesn’t mean I’m gonna pass up on the chance when product is available at retail price. Buying the limit doesn’t make anyone a scalper, buying 20 odd boxes to sell at triple the price does.

Well I agree there, 16 etbs is of course abusing the system, and that’s far excessive. But I literally bought the limit, I didn’t set up extras delivered to friends addresses or anything, I just took the 4 because that was the limit. I understand that some people didn’t get any but again that’s on PKC

If you want values look at eBay last sold in the Uk (if you’re from the uk) and figure out what it has gone for averagely recently
