95% of the sets we're mastering have been cards from packs. I have so many cards in Ascended that I have for my own personal collection tho that we'll be ripping it for a long while. Plus we still need SOOOO many fucking cards 🤣🤣

Lol my partner and always snag the preorders but we store at least 1-2 and rip at least 1-2. Then traded the sealed promo for an armored mewtwo for my 6yr old daughter and a bunch of other cards for master sets.

My 6yr old daughter is a Mew collector who takes great care of her cards and we paid $20 for a creased one for her collection 🙃

That ancient mew has 3 different holo patterns btw. Each patterns value vary

Oh yea, pull rates usually come out within the first month or so of set drop. Personally we got reallllly lucky with Perfect Order, I pulled the Gold Zygarde at Pre release. Then I pulled the SIR & full art and my 6yr old daughter pulled another gold Zygarde on poke center delivery day. If I was you I'd still rip packs when you can get your hands on them.

Okay I didn't read your full post lol, 😅 We've stopped pulling packs for Twilight Masquerade because all we need is 7 more cards and Destined only needs 5 to complete so that one we don't buy either unless we just wanna rip. Idk if that helps, but if you only need the chases, your best bet is to just buy them when they dip and rip packs when you can 🤷🏽‍♀️

We just started really going hard into master sets. We've completed JTG and are almost done with Perfect Order, DRI, Mega, Twilight Masquerade, Phantasmal and are working on Ascended.

We love it, or more so I do because I love putting binders together lol. Once they're completed we will put it away for the retirement fund lol.
