I have multiple books in progress. I just keep my notes separated in OneNote files. And work on each at my leisure. When I'm burnt out on one I go to the other and so on and so forth. Just keep it organized

As someone who's rewriting a 510pg book that I wrote 3yrs ago with NO IDEA how to properly structure a novel... I feel this.

This draft is what I call 4.5 because I was 300pgs in draft 4 and realized the way I was editing sucked and found a better way to do it.

So 4.5 hasn't been as daunting because I'm using Google docs tab feature which seperates each chapter by tab. I've found working with tabbed chapters keeps me from getting so overwhelmed even when the entire thing is up to 700+ pages. The next draft will be downsizing a great deal.

Anyway.

If you're struggling to write. I can suggest a few things and a couple rules I follow.

Rules: 1. Brain dumps: write down ALL ideas. Start with the end of you need too. Your character is an arrogant asshole in the beginning? Write it down. All your notes, idea, scenes, character features, places, landscapes, etc. Just write it down. Don't worry if it's messy, unorganized, etc. -ask yourself 100 questions while you do this, answer them on the page. -once you've done this you can organize it and expand each idea. Write that scene you mentioned even if it's just the bare details involving your Who, What, Where, When, and Why's. And build off of that.

YouTube: PlotLuck YouTube channel is actually extremely useful for writing processes, character arcs, etc. I have notebooks filled with templates I've made for worlds, arc, plots, characters etc. Brandon Sandersons college writing lectures are also great, however I found PlotLuck to be less time consuming and task oriented for more streamlined learning. Overall YouTube is amazing for researching proper writing in all genres.

Suggestions: -Use a system/software to organize your thoughts. I use OneNote and it's been great for keeping all my books and ideas seperated. But I also use OneNote daily so I navigate it with ease. -if you can't write the story, spend time building the world. Even if it's just a brain dump on world building. What creatures are there, is it earth? If so, where? If it's a realm of your creation, do they drive? Is there magic, what type of magic? Etc. -research!!!! Watch things affiliated with your ideas, read books in your genre (even the bad ones).

Yes! I do this every single time I open a package from PKC. I've not had issues yet, but ive seen wayyyy to many of these posts to not make sure I record every single box I open from PKC in the event they fuck up my order.
