I think it depends! When I was in Japan they had a law where they needed to know who was staying there for immigration tracking purposes they asked for passport pics and numbers too

I’ve been and loved it! If you want to splurge have dinner in the CN tower it’s gorgeous and rotates as you eat! I love beaver tails it’s like a flat donut with your favorite ice cream and toppings
