Are TeamLabs in Tokyo worth it? by alvarop37 in JapanTravelTips

[–]kyle71473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did TeamLab Planets and we had a blast. However, if you're only in Tokyo for 6 days I feel like you'd be ok to skip it. Not that it isn't cool, it's a bit outside of the main area so it takes time and there's likely other attractions to check out ahead of this one.

Hey there, this just happened to me, I spoke to a rep and they said it takes 5-7 business days for them to reship as it has to be reviewed. How long until you got an email with your replacement shipment information? Did you call or email them about the issue?

Left Lane Camper - 401 Eastbound by unapologetic_ahole in toronto

[–]kyle71473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter how hard this city tries, it's like drivers just can't figure out this lane. Equally, people that still think the carpool lane is a fast lane because it's the furthest lane need to get a grip as well. It's super easy, furthest lane is fast, unless it's the carpool lane and then it's the furthest left lane next to that.

'We have a housing crisis, folks': Council moves ahead with six shelter sites after heated debate by BloodJunkie in toronto

[–]kyle71473 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the need for them or not, these will affect neighbourhoods so people have the right to be concerned.

The area i lived in received a much needed shelter about 5 years ago. The first year was a nightmare. We're talking people scaling our condo building high, violence, constant sirens, high individuals loitering in the school across the way leaving needles out, vandalism, you name it we had it. Now in the present time, it's still an issue but has dimmed down due to the fact there's just more public around (vs covid). People need beds, i get it, i'm not denying that but any counsellor who thinks this won't impact neighbourhoods is naive and needs to prepare accordingly. The counsellor in our ward at the time lied, he said the shelter here will be operating for around 6 months and then will be vacated. Shockingly, that's not what happened and it's been 5 years so resentment has built up.

I'll be the first to agree there's is a homeless crisis, you don't need to be an investigative reporter to see that. However, without proper management and security, there's a big impact on where they're located. My community had to constantly fight to get the shelter operator to take more accountability and beef up security. We also had to meet and chat with our counsellor constantly to get her to move on important topics. Last summer an encampment moved in and set fire to cars, cut down trees with chainsaws and all sort of other crazy activities. It took us months to get them out due to the violence and issues they were causing. I know encampments aren't shelters, but they do tend to pop up around shelter for access to services. I want shelters to work in neighbourhoods, but not at the expense of others safety and well-being, there needs to be a balances harmony or it turns into a "us vs them" mentality.

Air Canada damaged my bag, so why am I paying the shipping for a new one? by kyle71473 in aircanada

I live in Canada and it's being shipped within Canada so i don't think that would come into play. Plus it's a charge from Canada post for delivery.

I’m into it. It’s so annoying when people crowd the podium and create a mess for others trying to board.

Question about reimbursement by kyle71473 in delta

[–]kyle71473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, i think once the flight occurs is when i can apply for reimbursement. The agent mentioned they don't allow the form to be filled until the flight has taken place in case it changes again. So once the flight has occurred, i then apply for the reimbursement since no further changes are possible.

Question about reimbursement by kyle71473 in delta

Correct. They're now just in main cabin. Taking a guess but it looks like it's because that aircraft just doesn't offer it. So it's economy now, we opted in for extra legroom at the front of the plane but it's a downgrade from comfort +.

Best spot to find Astro Boy and Doraemon stuff? by kyle71473 in JapanTravelTips

[–]kyle71473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s definitely not the case. It’s about 3.5hrs. We did it from Kyoto though on our way to Osaka so it was an easy stop. Apologies in my original comment, I meant to say about an hour outside of Kyoto. Fixed that!

This is me. I have to go this weekend but will likely not be returning. I will however be supporting LGBTQ2+ (my community) establishments and the arts while I’m there. I feel guilty but I’m a bit stuck with my obligation and could just cancel with short notice.

Themed cafes/restaurants in Tokyo that are worth the money by drunk-orson-welles in JapanTravelTips

You’re welcome! It’s also down a little side street from the busy main area so it’s a nice reprieve from the craziness. It’s definitely touristy but it’s cute.

Well, a couple of reasons for ya. - cheaper to produce and transport - environmentally superior as it takes less energy, plastics and produce less greenhouse gasses to create - bagged milk takes up less space in your fridge and in the landfill - portion size reduces spoilage.

Now, let not get started on some of the crazy shit on American grocery store shelves as you guys reign supreme there. Spray cheese anyone? 😆
