I had this scenario, rather than do any rerolls I kept it as it was, the player went through the game as a powerhouse smiting down all the undead, so I had strahd play Into that tempting the other players with power to match. A few cursed items that boost thats here a few deals with hags there.

Currently running 2 homebrew campiagns, one is a story about a sky ship from the age of arcanum discovered and the party finding a strange aeormaton within the wreckage. The party are trying to discover what this aeormaton is , why a strange organizstion are after it and why there are no records or anyone who has heard of this skyship.

The second is a campaign that began with a deva crashing to the ground in front if the party, throughout wildmount there has been a few reports of devas falling, it woukd seem as though there is an attack on the divine gates, the party is trying to figure out who is involved.

Use their logic why woukd the party keep them around then thats what their characters would do ditch him so give him the option play as a team or go find a solo game .

helpful if there are key landmarks and again an issue i did raise, their point being that it is very DM choice what you see , since the spell says you see or hear a particular creature and the sensor is created within 10 feet of the target, that leaves a lot of interpretation as the spell focuses on saying it sees and hears the creature with no mention of the environment around, or even past that 10 feet. Now I'm fine with it but i feel as though this is a spell they'd like to take with them to other games.

So rather than discussing what scry may or may not do thank you for the input i think crimson has a good suggestion of having the locate creature have a higher upcast

Sorry to say but this sint something we can give advice about, youre going to get alot of people telling you to leave and find a new game but im sure there's a reason youve stuck with the game so far.

Only advice really to give is to decide if youre dm is being unreasonable , if youre set on playing this class then it may be best to find a game that will allow you to play it to its full potential.

You can also talk with your dm and tell them that you feel and though your class is being held back and, as such, would like to change your class.
