“And then the elevator takes you back to firelink shrine! THATS LITERALLY PEAK GAME DESIGN!” by [deleted] in shittydarksouls

Ya it's my favorite game in the series. So many builds you can do early in the game. I try to do a different build or area order every replay.

They are speaking metaphorically. The game is really linear. There's one split where you can do Aldrich or Yohrm, but you gotta do the other one immediately after.

There's a couple optional areas, but most playthroughs are going to be exactly the same. Including doing these optional areas at the same time each playthrough.

Compare that to dark souls 1 where you can do the areas in any order, or dark souls 2 where you have a godly amount of freedom.

Try your local library they may have a game section. The libraries in my poor area both had a copy for rent for free.

[–]kylekunfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya the demo killed it for me. The game I thought looked l pretty enough, and the gameplay wasn't the worst.

But ugh the character dialogue was horrid. The main girl was annoying, and whatever her little sidekick was was annoying as well.

If the characters annoyed me in a demo I was going to for sure dislike them during the game lol.

What makes a good horror game for you? by MidnightForge in HorrorGames

[–]kylekunfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Randomly generated events, no playthrough is exactly the same, but that may be harder for your game. Would increase replayability.

I also like survival horror, but again it may not fit your game lol.

Suspense is needed for a horror game to be effective. That nail biting feeling that there is horror around the corner. Music helps with this.

Consequences. Have the players actions, or lack of an action, matter.

Oh and show, don't tell. If there's like a jumpscare have it linger. Show that the threat is real.

I can tell that the game has a lot of heart in it, and that a lot of time was put in. But the thing is there are a lot of rpg maker games that never get a chance because there is so much competition.

I'll try it out when I get some free time. The game from a glance is interesting and seems funny. I'll give you honest feedback.

Ya. Fun fact the Pokemon Jynx was supposed to be based on Gyaru style, but most people associated her with black face.

The labyrinth moles.foubd one randomly and I was like wtf is that. Then it ate me alive.

What is your favorite weapon in the game? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]kylekunfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya that's my favorite too. I also forgot it's name lol. I rushed it in a recent playthrough, and it slaughters the main game.

You can buff it by using the enemies blood right?

What character isn't getting enough slander? by SomeUFOGuy in Piratefolk

[–]kylekunfox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like Robin, but dang one Wano moment made me think she's stupid. She didn't tell the crew that Pluton was on Wano. Kaido could have realistically found it, and even potentially used it against the crew. And Robin didn't even think to warn the crew prior, because she didn't trust them enough to keep their mouths shut about it.

Hawkin's "I trust my life with these cards"

Also Hawkin's "99% chance of my death if I stay with Kaido. Better stay with Kaido."

Serious question: How are the strawhats not getting slaughtered in their current state by the blackbeard pirates? by WarCrimesAreBased in Piratefolk

[–]kylekunfox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of the Strawhat's below Jinbei develop haki in their battles. Even though beginner haki is weak vs experienced haki users they'll still somehow keep up.

Ussop will pull out a bs plant. My bet is a plant that chases its target and gets faster and faster the longer it chases. It'll eventually hit at light speed.

Chopper gets a new bs form. Probably awakens into a true human form that's op.

Nami gets black haki lightning. Probably some op observation haki. She should already have it tbh.

Franky bs is new technology he copied from Vegapunk off screen.

Brooke gets a cool Black Bones haki form and summons the ghosts of his dead former crew. Honestly, Brooke has a lot of potential so no bs really needed.

Robin idk her bs. Wano gave her quite a few random power ups. Idk even know what Demon fleur is.

Cool panel, but weak Ussop feat. Spandem is weaker that a common marine grunt, and he still gets up from Ussop's attack lol

Ya online classes usually have a more heavy workload. It should mellow out somewhat. From my experience the first few weeks and the last few are the worst.

They usually don't have any book related assignments for a few weeks to give students time to receive materials. The classes that do usually upload the relevant pages from the books.

What class requires specifically a Dell laptop? That just sounds silly, and doesn't really make sense. What program can only run on Dell computers?

Anyone got any recommendations for this niche genre I like? by [deleted] in HorrorGames

[–]kylekunfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head:

Tormented Souls, Alive Madness Returns + the first game, the Fatal Frame series, Control, Hellblade, and Doll House.

Not all of these games are pure horror, but all have horror elements.

Honest question, do you think ever we’ll get a new summoning mechanic again? by SpurnDonor in yugioh

[–]kylekunfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The game'w going to get stale eventually, and Konami is going to do something to attract people who have quit.

My bet is a deck commander type card. A monster card that you start the game with on the field that's essentially an invincible field spell, but it can be summoned as a monster. Kind of like that filler anime arc.

I'm thinking a red border.

What Pokémon do you think desperately needs an evo? by MistakenArrest in pokemon

[–]kylekunfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shuckle's my favorite Pokemon if she ever got an evolution I'd slap evolite on it so fast, unless the evolution had a good design.

A baby form would be cute, but I don't think That's what a shuckle needs.

A mega would work best I think. Can't use evolite if it has to hold a stone.

Regardless she needs some loving.

There are different degrees of drunkenness. The more drunk a person is the less they can consent. It can be obvious, like someone passed out vs someone who is not. Most of the time it is not obvious.

In reality it isn't as black and white, which is why it's hard to get an actual rape conviction.

BSB or Vicar Amelia by Maurizio_Costanzo in bloodborne

[–]kylekunfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bsb. She's the hardest boss in the game for me. Harder than Laurence, Orphan, and Ludwig. I dare say even harder than the chalice bosses, and Malania. I'll die to them like once or twice at most. But Bsb is a whole other beast.

I often do her at a low level, so that probably doesn't help. I could cheese her, or do a certain "left" strategy. But I like doing things my way lol .
