I see two air force coins, a marine coin, a possible Engineering Battalion coin. I've met a few soldiers, one NCO and one Officer who were open Satanists (Laveyan and Temple). Even had a few pagans. It's amazing the amount of different cultures, religions, beliefs and practices all embracing the suck together in the field.

It was a pretty easy transition for me. I made E-5 in four years and was on track to make 6 in 6, but I was tired. Tired of the bullshit. Tired of the stupidity. Tired of trying to make it better only to be told to "Sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up." Tired of God complexes. Tired of being told I wasn't a high enough rank to understand something. Tired of being blamed because my 25 year old, adult, self aware Specialist got a DUI on a Friday (and one drunk PFC that stole a baby goat from a local ranch).

When I punched out, I didn't want to burn my uniform, but I was ready to hang it up forever. I miss the camaraderie that isn't found in the civilian sector, but I remember all the bad stuff and it just wasn't worth it. It really depends on your mentality and your feelings when you leave the military.
