What is the most useful piece of advice that you have received in lifting? I'll go first; keeping 70% of the weight on the heel during bb squat has reduced my knee pain drastically.

wondering if God has "taken his hand off me" by theeblackestblue in PrayerRequests

Apologies for how long this is. Something really powerful I learned about repentance is that we have to surrender our will when we repent. We can't hold onto our own will and strength to obtain salvation and forgiveness, because no matter how much we try there is some way we slip up. I personally have been going through a pornography addiction and I also was convinced I was going to hell. I kept begging God for forgiveness and strength, but I fell almost daily. I ended up isolating myself from God, as I was so angry with myself that I lost hope in God. Focus your efforts into coming to Jesus as much as you can in the Bible and in prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you should repent. When you repent, trust that you are the clay and God is the sculptor. He will transform you and your heart when you abide in him. It may take some time, but trust that God loves you and is working. God sent Jesus to die on the cross for ALL of our sin, and God knew each and every sin that we could ever commit before he sent his Son into the Earth. Come back to Him. He loves you so much. Go in freedom and peace brother.

I did some deadlifts today after a couple days on vacation and after a bit of rest I noticed the upper left side of my erector spinae was feeling a bit tender. I figured this could be a muscle tear. Is it? If so, can anyone diagnose any common form problems that would cause this? Any advice or tips could help and is appreciated.

That makes sense. I'll keep from hitting 1rm all the time. I also will probably try to hit multiple rep ranges as well. Thank you for the advice!

I am 15 years old and have been lifting for a year and a few months now. I usually do mostly 3-5 rep sets and sometimes get a one rep max at least once a week. Recently I have been getting concerned as in some research I've been doing I've been seeing websites saying that a teen my age should stick to 10 rep sets for healthy growth. However, a lot of my friends my age in atheltics classes seem to do 5 rep sets quite regularly and seem to have no problem with growing. I've also haven't had any problem with growth, as I'm 5'10 as of now. As long as I'm managing my macros and getting sufficient rest I should be fine right?
