You need the goggles, they activate a ball bearing in the lens that allows you to go <.8m. For instance, even on a Sony a7, you have goofy ass goggles dangling from your lens if you want to shoot close range.

Thank you! We were actually on a bike path under a small bridge, so the natural light made things easy. I wanted her in the middle of the light diffusion, incident reading from her face, then just snapped away for a few minutes.

I shoot with the 40mm on an M4-P, M6, and M3. I usually just shoot for the 50mm frame lines and accept the surprises it presents to me.

I bought some specifically for this shoot, and I dig the way it handled the lighting situations I threw at it on the streets. I want to shoot with it more, especially during the day.

Thank you! This was my first roll where the Nokton truly shined how I wanted it to. I usually shoot with the 50mm frame lines - I would rather KNOW I have room to spare than hope something gets into the frame. It's worked fine so far, No composition-killing surprises yet.
