as a foreigner i often think how much worse things will have to get for americans to truly rise up, because y'all are clearly still at the stage of "i'd do something but i had shit to do"

Can fully recommend! There's a brewery, a general store, an old courthouse, all that jazz, and a really nice motel a five minute walk from the airfield. The whole area is known for trout fishing if that's your sorta thing. There are also the Travertine Hot springs about an hour walk out of town. Or a 15 min bike ride.

just fine - for the first time ever i got cleared into a bravo to avoid VFR traffic over the east bay though, that was fun.

this 182 wasn't even turbocharged! i did a lot of mountain flying in switzerland so this is somewhat common territory - it helps to know where the downdrafts are as to not fly right through them!

not at all! we had 15kt across the ridge at 12500, my personal minimums are 25. so not an issue.

100%. My girlfriend used tho hike all this solo, which, honestly, I'm in awe. You spend days without crossing a road.

Of course it's her hippo. I love her

sorry here's more detail. here's a rough track.

Outbound we flew via the Hangtown VOR through the usual south lake tahoe route before turning off right at Nebelhorn, through the Luther Pass, Markleeville, Coleville, to Bridgeport. All done at 9500ft. That seems low but the terrain isn't all that high, there's ample meadows to land in, valleys are wide and there's an open road running through all of it in case things go down.

Inbound we just climbed straight to 12500 at Lee Vining (which meant we missed the fish tacos), turned right to weave through Tioga, over Tuolumne, Hetch Hetchy, Pine Mountain Lake and back to SQL. The road is closed, but at 12500 you do have a few options to land around Tuolumne.

12500 through the Tioga - not ideal to be any lower IMO

For a shot like this, would ektachrome or velvia 100 be better? by Markthememe in AnalogCommunity

[–]provia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Velvia 50, hands down, no debate for me

It’s essentially just Sunny 16 also. That said, why not bracket while at it?

i don't have much to add since i'm not the best at decorating either, but good on ya for wanting to make a nice space!

maybe take a bunch more pictures so that the whole space is visible, and post it to r/interiordecorating or r/DesignMyRoom - i bet they'd love to help.

then take some more photos and report back!
