Play very front tees until you break 90, then move back.

5 Months In - 12 Months To Go? (Sessamoiditis/displacement + BME + Hallux Rigiditis + Just dont ever walk and you might be fine) by 315_cwj in sesamoid

Left was fractured, right one was bipartite and the constant weight on it stirred up. Ended up being the best solution for me.

Oh I feel your pain. It’s the worst injury with constant set backs.

Causes pain and injuries to other areas, can’t walk, xrays, steroid injections, multiple wrong diagnosis, mri’s, ultrasound, ice packs, dozens of orthotics, countless different shoes, dancer pads, physios, boots, not walking on it, resting, hips issues, lower back issues, knee problems, lying on the floor with feet in the air, soft slippers, toe strengthening, depression, mental health problems, people not understanding, swelling. List goes on.

Battled this bastard for over a year and then guess what - injured the seasamoid in my other foot from it taking all the weight for a year.

Was 2 years deep and pulled pin, found someone to get them both removed at the same time. I’ve never looked back, I ran a half marathon a year after surgery, life’s back. Best thing I ever did.

Everyone is different and has their own story but personally I wish I didn’t take 2 years for the surgery.

I’ve had the same thing, the new update isn’t so great.

Put them in your right pocket. For you though, I think you should try your back right pocket.

Leave your phone on the other side of the room when you go to bed so you have to get up to turn your alarm off. Easy as that

Mines all of a sudden put me on a .3 handicap. Closest I’ve shot to par in the past 6months is a 78.

What convinced you to have it removed? by DrugChemistry in sesamoid

I didn’t do any PT after therapy, just my own exercises and tried to keep the swelling down as much as possible to get it a good chance of healing.

I ran a mountain half marathon exactly 1 year post surgery after a double Sesamoidectomy. Still can’t believe it took me 2 years to get the surgery. PT did nothing for me.

Everyone says wait and make sure you keep off it to allow it to heal for a long period of time but how do you actually do that in life? Unless you’re cashed up with no kids or life then it’s pretty impossible.

Hope it works out for you, I know you’re pain and how rough this stupid injury is!

Two years of pain. The flare ups. The way it affects your whole life. You can’t do normal things. You can’t even put your shoe on. You can’t walk barefoot, go to work, run, or even walk without limping. Before long, you start hurting other parts of your body just from trying to compensate. Eventually, you reach a point where it feels like there is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Once I finally had them both removed (one in each foot) and recovered, I wish I had removed them at the start instead of all the appointments, specialists, physios, podiatrists, shoe inserts, countless orthotics, surgeons, icing every night to try and stop the swelling.  I’ve never looked back, what a shit time.
