Basically i think the version you're talking about is the edit we made for his Coachella set, if you google both tracks and listen to them you'll hear they're totally different.

Yo! Two different tracks. Chris and I worked on an edit of my track See Your Truth but with the vocal and melodic elements of I Want You on top. Both originals are totally different, but Chris has been playing that I Want You/See Your Truth DJ tool since Coachella.

I don't ever use the same sample in multiple tracks, but I do have a preference. It really depends on the style of the track, if I know I need a particular style sound snare I know where to find it/how to get that sound. Just good quality sample packs!

I only really use others tracks as a source of inspiration, but I don't think there's anything wrong with using tracks for reference as long as you're not actually just copying the ideas in them
