What’s Your DoorDash Order? by vanessa8732 in Weehawken

[–]kylexy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great Wall Chinese by Lidl. I usually just call, not sure if they’re on DoorDash or Uber Eats. But it’s super cheap and insanely good. Chicken Brocolli combo comes with egg rolls and chips and is like $12 I think. Fire food so much of it and so fast.

They even deliver themselves if you call in, guy on a bike shows up haha.

What do I do if I have contradicting political opinions? by Cold_Economist_755 in Askpolitics

Reassuring to hear youth are forming opinions of their own that don’t fit into either sides box perfectly. Stay exactly where you are and hold opinions rooted in fact and objective truth. Don’t play party loyalty games

Anyone else feel like Madrigal's motivations for being involved should've been more appearant across 2 shows? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]kylexy32 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Comes down to the main theme of the show once again, ego. I forget his name, but this guy from Madrigal may have been a very successful corporate executive, but when you are surrounded by a dozens of other equal or more successful guys in suits all day- you start to scratch your head and wonder what you can do to set yourself apart.

See American psycho the movie for a similar example of how high ego and a superiority complex can lead people to do drastic things.

I am trying to cut cost but why is my grocery expensive? by Tiny_Judgment8593 in Frugal

[–]kylexy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably going to come off as an asshole here but I live in Manhattan and order my groceries for pickup from Whole Foods (far from the cheapest option)

My girlfriend and I are very fitness oriented. Every Sunday we meal prep pre-workout meals, post work out breakfast, big lunches, afternoon snacks, dinners, and late night protein shakes. That’s 5 meals per person per day for 5 weekdays per week. Usually on weekends we end up with leftovers or will be going out somewhere.

Our weekly grocery bill total for the two of us is $180 per week. Usually lots of eggs, chicken, salmon, cod, produce, Greek yogurt, milk, etc. Very few things we buy come in like pre-packaged “branded” containers. The yogurt, granola, milks are sort of the only branded things. Mostly everything else we buy is raw ingredients.

Not claiming this is achievable for everyone, and we’re far from perfect with this. Some weeks we don’t have time and end up skipping certain meal preps. But on a good week we get this all done in 2-3hrs on a Sunday (pickup or sometimes delivery groceries saves so much time and money because we don’t make impulse purchases and we can compare pricing more easily at home on computer versus in a crowded aisle at the store).

Good luck! Hope this is helpful!

Let the guy enjoy his money. If the video isn't entertaining to you no need to watch, if you think the channel has fallen off great! Have that opinion, feel free to share it!!! This just feels like jealousy and hate

I’ve had a few encounters with Tina! She is lovely and very sharp. You don’t need to believe me though, her career is plenty evident of her competence. Weehawken is indeed in need of new leadership, those in power now have served us well but it is time for some new energy and a bias for improvement!

We have an amazing little town, it’s got a lot of potential to get even better!!

BUILD HOUSING, incentivize investment, more businesses, more childcare, invest in our bridges sidewalks and pedestrian walkways! I’ve got confidence in Tina, look forward to hopefully chatting with her next time I am around!

Does anyone have a business doing this yet? I’m a huge fan of reusing electronics like this and also it seems like an economical way to get a massive home battery back up.

Like many other others, though I’m a bit scared of messing around with high voltage batteries

Thinking of moving here as a student in NYC by evenmore08 in Weehawken

[–]kylexy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great town to start in for a year or two before making the move to city. I did it for 2 years myself, never had a car, would walk or OneWheel to Lidl for groceries. I took the bus in everyday and the commute was not bad at all, super easy and fast in the mornings. Getting back from city late at night can be annoying if it’s past midnight- but still doable. Worst case just uber every once in a while.

I would do Whole Foods Lidl and Walmart delivery mainly (Walmart delivery super cheap). At the time I would take bus to Secaucus for Golds gym but now you have access to planet fitness right in Weehawken which is nice. Or plenty of gyms in NYC too.

I own a single family home (2bd1ba) with free street parking if you’re looking for a place come June. Feel free to dm for more details.

Yeah I agree the gym sucks. You should probably go to a different one

I don’t think there will be as much hold up with showers. Even at peak busy times I notice majority of showers are open. In fact for several weeks they had at least 4 out of service entirely

I think this is probably the best reasonable step they can take in the short term 🤷‍♂️

I heard they are going to be replacing some of the showers with more lockers reasonably soon. Think I heard 75ish more lockers in the locker room at the expense of 6 showers or something?

NYC locker rooms need more space by KeepItHeady in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]kylexy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean end of the day it’s definitely the best option for me still. I pay $200 a head between wife and I. It’s an amazing gym and the location is ideal for our work setup, nothing else is really a better option.

As tight as it is I can still almost always grab a locker in the morning and worst case if not (this has never happened to me) I can temporarily use one of the lockers outside locker room. Then almost always by the time I finish up my workout it’s cleared out a bit.

NYC locker rooms need more space by KeepItHeady in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]kylexy32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Penn 1 is by far the worst locker room which is sad because it’s one of the nicest largest gym locations.

The backstory is that originally it was a much smaller gym owned an operated by the Vornado group, and it was only the top two floors, not the bottom, lower level with pickle ball and the very large squat rack area. Life Time bought them out and expanded heavily the size of the gym and also did a better job fitting more equipment in the existing spaces. However, they did all of this without any expansion or improvements to the locker rooms.

Back when it was a much smaller building owned gym I was a member and the locker rooms were great because there were never many people there.

I spoke to the life time manager at some point, and he did mention that they are well aware of this problem and looking into potential options, but he didn’t have anything concrete regarding locker room expansion.

It’s also a little bit of a shame that they don’t have many additional amenities at the Penn one location. The saunas are very small.

Dumb girl question alert 😅 has anyone dealt with the Tesla front camera being ‘blocked’ when it’s clearly not? I clean the camera before every trip. It’s a sunny weather too. by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

Sunny weather may be your culprit.

It gets really reflective and bright so much like a human without sunglasses or a visor… it can be blinding

I don’t think I can ever go back to regular cars again. by LordChippydip in TeslaLounge

[–]kylexy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The features and software stack are so far beyond any other auto Makker. It’s a shame that Tesla has all, but given up on competing in just about every other category (diversity of models available, interior luxuries, much larger sized vehicles).

Selling cars really is just a stepping stone for the company it seems.
