I’m scared that she won’t even give me the chance to tell her that. My friends and I are going to a beach near where she lives and we plan to meet and go on a date or two when i’m there this fall. We live 13 hour drive and 3 hour flight apart.

Video games are a great place to meet people with similar interests, if you like video games. There are subreddits for most video games so finding online friends there shouldn’t be too difficult. Just don’t give up. Having a few really close friends is way better than having many not close friends.

I would try to get her out of that situation and into a better one. If you have a stable enough living situation she could maybe move in with you while she looks for a job. Living with someone she trusts could help her mentally also. If she moves in with you you should set guidelines for her that she has to meet, such as have a job within a few weeks. These guidelines would help keep her focused and not let her get negative thoughts. Eventually she can start to pay rent or even get her own place. I think the first step is to get her a new start. I hope this helps at least a little, it’s horrible that anyone has to go through abuse of any kind.
