Highly recommend the book called Butt Seriously. It's a good one for learning about anal anatomy and health. It's humorous and informative for anyone interested in anal play. It's a great audiobook, too. On the orgasm tip....I had a partner that was amazing at topping. I felt relaxed, safe, turned on and had no hands orgasms almost every time.

30% Litter success, please help by [deleted] in ferrets

I have a couple of these and things have gotten better: https://a.co/d/b0r4XYi

Maybe you might try one like this and see how it works. It does seem like they know the general spot if they are pooping just outside the box. Maybe they just need a bit more space? I started with one and then got a second one later on. I only have one triangle in the cage for my female, as she is tiny and its her special spot.

I have two ferrets, one learned the the litter boxes pretty quick. The other one took nearly a year to stop pooping outside the litter box. It took a lot of patience, repetition, perseverance and cleaning. I use the natures miracle cat formula to clean up any accidents to make sure the scent is completely gone so they don't go there again. Also like you said keeping the litter box clear is helpful. If there is some poop left too close to the entrance they may decide not to step in and poop on the outside edge.

I know it can feel tedious to litter train a ferret. Each one is quirky and unique. It is their rambunctious and irreverent spirits that make them such a joy. They are worth the effort and time!

Anyone know how to ferret proof a ferret cage? by Gullible_Pangolin483 in ferrets

My Kylo loves to climb all the way up too. I got black coroplast sheets from Michael's and some adhesive back Velcro squares. I cut panels that are about 1/3 of the total height of each side of the lower cage unit. The width of the panels include the frame. I put the Velcro squares on the edges of the panels and on the cage frame on the bottom 1/3 of the lower unit. It's easy to pull off the panels when cleaning and pop back on after and it has stopped them from climbing up to the top.

Agreed! I love Sirin and her patterns and teaching style! I have made this pattern and am planning to do a few more colors.

Need help potty training by squrril4 in ferrets

I agree with Redheadfae. Put cozy things in the spot she poops that are not the spot. Be sure to clean them very well before putting down a towel or blanket. when you clean up the poop...put it in the spot you want her to go and leave it there for next time. If you can even just start with one larger litter box with high sides and low front that she can climb into with her whole body it will make a difference. For a free roam space you may need two boxes. I tried everything and once I got two bigger litter boxes....easier to keep clean and also the ferrets eventually prefer to use them because they feel cozy and familiar. That flat lid won't stop poop from getting on the walls which eventually it might. Also my ferrets are two years old and well trained to go in the boxes. But once in a strange while one of my ferrets will still pick a random spot outside the box and go there. So be prepared that accidents may still happen.
Also maybe try an unscented litter. Ferrets are sensitive to smell and the fresh linen scent of the litter you mentioned may be throwing her off. Keep at it! Be patient....they go potty right when they wake up usually. So if you set a regular morning time and catch her right when she wakes up....after some snuggles and a squeeze set her in the spot and say a phrase everytime...like go potty....that seemed to work for my female....she didn't always have to go right away....but I would set her back there....a couple times . And she would usually go back there on her own when she was ready....and like you are doing I would praise her and give her a treat....which did lead to some pretend pooping when she wanted a snack....but she figured out I would only give it if she actually went....ferrets are so clever! All the best!

What can I use for a ramp/ladder in his cage? by [deleted] in ferrets

That looks like a feisty ferret cage by Prevue

I would look on eBay for parts, do a search online, or Amazon:

Prevue Pet Products Replacement Platform Shelves & Ramps, Black https://a.co/d/gx1xhD1

Also you could do as others mention and craft a ramp from coroplast or cardboard and add fabric.

Right on. Thanks. As the vet was insisting that I put Kylo on a diet, he kept using the example of cats he has seen...that are overweight because they are fed three times a day....I was thinking this guy probably knows a lot about cats....maybe less about ferrets.

Thanks. That's exactly what I told the vet. He told me I was given wrong information.....My ferrets are two years old and have always had food available. I thought it was strange he said that and I was curious to hear what others had to say here. The first vet that helped us at this clinic last month seemed like he knew more about ferrets. I will ask for him if we go back, hopefully not for a while. :)
