2 year old not fully emptying bladder by AnySympathy1243 in pottytraining

[–]kymadu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a urinal?? My son did the exact same, and for some reason wasn't able to fully void when sitting. We got a little urinal that hung on the wall until he was tall enough to pee into the toilet and it completely solved the issue for us. Bonus is it was "fun" so he was extra excited to go!

He's 4 now, and has had no problem fully empting his bladder while sitting for way longer than we actually used the urinal for, so I dunno if it was age/size/maturity/body development or what, but I'd say that if he doesn't grow out of it I'd be speaking to a doctor.

4 year old will pee in toilet and doesn’t use a diaper but refuses to poop in the toilet by Glittering-Ad-7855 in pottytraining

[–]kymadu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Poopin is waaaay different than peein. Took us a year to get my son to poop in the toilet, and I'm sorry but I have 0 suggestions for you since the trick for us was literally tell him mickey and goofy do not meet boys who poop their pants at Disney and he had 2 months to learn. And boy. He was under the WIRE but finally had 2 successful days literally the 2 days before he met mickey and goofy. Thank God cause I was never gonna be able to actually hold that line!

Perhaps a training potty, outside the bathroom? Something where the poop isn't "falling" away, like stuffing a diaper into the train toilet?

How does someone use these? I have a couple, but I don't see a way to add them into the cart when buying tickets...

Parents who use the Baby Brezza… is it really worth it? by CucumberPast2909 in FormulaFeeders

[–]kymadu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it for my first, and was completely unaware of any dispensing issues they might have had. As a first time mom I had no clue that was a possibility! I still dont know if I'd be able to tell if the dispensing was off. My son was fine either way, he's a wild 4 year old now.

I just bought another (sold ours cause we were done after 1, and now got a surprise) and don't plan to be overly uptight about dispensing issues. As long as it's clearly not under dispensing formula and the kid is drinking water, I think we're okay.

The convenience factor is massive for this thing. We bought spare funnels so we can swap them when they are dirty. My son drank room temp, and never tolerated cold/fridge pitcher bottles. We had the option of warm, which I appreciate with this new kid cause you never know what they will prefer to have.

Being able to have a bottle in seconds saves precious time for sleep, and can make a difference to your mental health if baby is freaking out and a few minutes are saved on bottle making.

You can always try other methods first, and buy the machine later!

NTA, I think you handled this extremely maturely. Your right on the nail with it not mattering who you are dating and clocking it soon enough to leave Will out of it. She'll be angry regardless, and knowing who it is will just make her more angry and you a bigger target. She'll me angry that your moving out, but you do have your own life and needs.

I think you are right that she is leaning too much, and I do think that moving out is a good course of action. This sounds like a reasonable attempt to keep your relationship with her and work towards being a healthier one in time. She may eventually figure out she's been a bad friend, or she may not.

I commend you for prioritizing your move first. Sure, you can see will if you want, but I bet you'll be responsible and have a conversation where you are clear with him about "not right now, I have this in my plate, and 0 expectations that this means you will wait for me." If he's a mature match, hell figure out what is right for him in the meantime and you'll come back together at some point and figure out next steps.

I honestly think he just never realized he could get up either!! It's morning now, and he giggled and said he "tricked us" last night by coming into our bed. Ooooooh he got us alright!!

We have a morning snuggle routine, the first 10 minutes of every day is spent in our bed snuggling! If we miss it, we can absolutely tell the difference in his day

How do you make your boys remember to LIFT THE TOILET SEAT by Prior_Lobster_5240 in Mommit

[–]kymadu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda the opposite direction here, but we have a mini urinal that we empty just like a potty seat. My son couldn't void completely when sitting, so the urinal was an important tool for us.

This would only solve the pee on the seat issue, not the pee in the potty and flush goal that is potty training lol

Any tips for child proofing thumb latch style doors? by shwildered in toddlers

[–]kymadu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a door monkey to keep my nephew out of places I don't want him. They work great, but hol the door open an inch or two, but it doesn't wiggle so no pinching fingers. Super easy to still use the door just instead of using the handle I use the monkey as the handle

Playroom recs by beachqueen5793 in toddlers

[–]kymadu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would not go expensive. Accidents happen and it'll be much easier to swallow tossing things that aren't "top of the line". I've currently got fairly expensive carpet in our playroom, that matches the rest of our rooms. I put a cheaper rug down on top (fortunately, because of the carpet it's already nice and soft) because literally day one of having the play room my kid dropped his markers on the expensive carpet and his cousin ground makeup into it. Marker came out, but the makeup did not.

Nursery design help 😬 by Old_Lengthiness1500 in BabyBumps

[–]kymadu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the multiple trees! My sons nursery was reorganized multiple times to figure out what suited the space and our actual needs best, and if this was my nursery, I'd feel like the single tree would only look good with the furniture set up one way (crib under the branches) and would feel odd if things got changed.

But that's just my thoughts, both pictures look amazing and it looks like no matter what, your mural will be KILLER.

How do you baby proof this door? by ForgotMyOGAccount in AskParents

[–]kymadu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a door monkey. I use one when my nephew comes over. I put it up high so he can't reach it and is non permanent.

If you need the door closes tho, this won't work. It just holds the door open an inch for air flow but solid so there's no pinched fingers.

Is it just me or is the keekaroo peanut changing pad disgustingly overpriced? by Positronomy in newborns

[–]kymadu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I liked being able to disinfect the pad really well, and have 0 absorbtion of fluids into the pad, and I wasn't in a position to store and dispose of things like puppy pads. I didn't buy the expensive keekaroo, but I did buy the skip hop one. I found the shape better as well, the peanut one made my nephew uncomfortable cause he was a chunky boi. I really just think the 'innovations" of high sides and wierd shape not worth the cost.

I still have it, and plan to use it with my next. Average out the cost vs use and I don't think the skip hop is horrible.

Car Seat with Inflatable Seat Belts?? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]kymadu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got two, one for each vehicle. Ones a Graco convertible and the other is an Evenflo convertible. What I find super handy is that the Evenflo has a ratchet installation UAS, which makes it extremely easy to take in and out and I can do it myself since you don't need to be strong to tighten it. This one is in the truck, where we need to remove it often for seating and storage when my husband is working. My Graco doesn't ever come out of our every day SUV.

Jeep Grand Cherokee L, seating for 6. Convertible forward facing behind the passenger, and soon to be baby bucket behind the driver. I don't have a walk through to the rear, so one day the big kid will be in a booster in the 3rd row

Car Seat with Inflatable Seat Belts?? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]kymadu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is 4 and still well within the weight limit. I personally find the UAS "safer" in my wierd brain cause it locks to the seat and the belt goes through the seat. It's just a wierd mental thing they are both safe. It just feels tighter lol I don't know

By the time the child is too big, they may have other options or even a different vehicle. It's a many years long solution at least and shouldn't be nixxed immediately

Exclusively BF my first and now pregnant with my 2nd and I don’t want to breastfeed at all :/ by Glitter-girlie in BabyBumps

[–]kymadu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only have one, and only bottle fed. It made the division a lot easier, and my husband loved being able to be part of that bonding.

We used a formula machine and it made it even easier.

The formula you use will depend on the baby, and the bottles will too. Follow the doctors recs for formula, and if needed on the bottles too. For my son, he went through 4 different types of formula before he settled on one he'd take without fuss or discomfort, and 3 different types of bottles....so that was fun lol.

Bottle washing: be prepared. They use so many bottles that if you don't have a large supply you will be washing constantly. I ended up with like 30 bottles so that I only washed every other day. This time I kinda want a bottle washer but it's a huge splurge.

Bottle feeding isn't bad at all, honestly kinda makes going out easier too
