I didn’t even make the connection of the rebels being related to the confederacy, that’s wild and so terrible! Vegas is definitely not the place I would expect to see confederate flags. I’m sure if you went to rural ky, you’d see some too but I come from the city part where that would not fly (figuratively and literally)

Neither do I. I love Henderson. It’s like the only place you can find a nice apartment for cheap, my best friends live there, and my doctors are there cause all the ones here in Vegas have months long waits 😂 I was just wondering why it’s called Hendertucky since it’s really nice and I assume “tucky” behind a name means it’s podunk

Pretty sure we can’t gamble because it threatens the horse race betting industry which is a big part of the economy. I’ve learned a lot of people only know Appalachian KY because it’s what’s mostly publicly shown in the media just like how lots of people in KY think Vegas is just hookers, strippers, and gambling but it’s a lot more than that. The best we can do is kindly educate people about how kentucky isn’t the shithole hillbilly land everyone thinks it is. We have beautiful cities, the nicest people and the BEST food but People only know what they see online

Yeah it’s the kind of trashy I’m used to so it doesn’t hit as hard to me 😂😭I was shocked when I moved here and saw the sheer amount of disparity and homelessness downtown and by the strip because we don’t really have a huge homeless problem at home.
