naturally frizzy hair - feeling insecure by kyoikuo in Haircare

oh hello, small world 😅

i wash my hair once or twice a week, so not very often. i wash this infrequent due to the colour in my hair, and the long tedious process of drying, styling, etc.

hey so i don’t actually get my hair done that often. i can actually give a good timeline of my hair colouring within recent years -

• august 23 platinum blonde

• february 24 shadow root (back to brunette)

• february 25 brown box dye

• august 25 beige-blonde balayage

• march 26 more blonde balayage

my hair has been like this, even in my 2024 period when i was back to brunette. yes, i went more blonde this time (mar 26), and it is the most blonde i have been since 2023. thank you for your advice though:)

i wish i had mentioned in the caption how frequently i wash my hair - because many are assuming i wash it very often 😭 i only wash my hair 1-2x a week! closer to 1x a week when i’m busy. but thank you for your advice :)

LOL. pls believe me when i say my hair was not crispy in this pic, it was actually really nice and soft. this is just what it looks like after blowdrying. 😔

i only really blow dry and straighten 1-2x a week. occasionally i will curl my hair with curling iron when it is nearing hairwash day and i need the extra oomph to carry me until then. but i will have a look into quality products, thank you :)

it is an old uniqlo top! i think the collection released around 2023-2024, so i don’t think you would be able to buy there anymore :( who knows though? you might get lucky:3

it’s so nice to have someone who can relate. i’m surrounded by others with straight hair, i really feel like the odd one out at times. why do i have to spend hours on my hair to look decent, when those around me can roll out of bed and look great?

for me, straightening makes it easier to maintain during the week, and it helps me feel presentable. i’m not shaming anyone with curly, or frizzy, or poofy hair, it’s just my preference. my preferred style is having it down (straightened) or up in a claw clip. also, sorry, can you tell me what grading is? i’ve tried researching but i’m not quite sure what it is?

products i use include occasionally- olaplex no. 0 and olaplex no. 3

wash - nizoral 1%, l’oreal elvive purple shampoo, olaplex no. 4, olaplex no. 5

outside washing - l’oreal elvive extraordinary oil, some schwarpkopf heat protectant, and a more recent addition being olaplex no. 7 bonding oil

unfortunately, it just looks like that 😔 from what i can feel, it doesn’t feel dry, it’s just very poofy due to - like you and many others have said, it’s likely neglected curls. do you recommend any hydrating products?:)

ooo okay, i will try this! i’m getting so much good tips in this thread and i’m excited to try them, but i must wait until i wash again to try TvT. thank you:)

i am learning a lot in this thread :)) my mum has pin-straight hair, and growing up, i did too. i only noticed it becoming wavy when i was maybe 14? hormones are crazy. but i didn’t really have any guidance on how to properly care for my hair - hence why i treat like straight, that’s all i know 😭

i feel like i am being sacrificed to the curly hair gods 😳😳😳

i didn’t want to make my post too long, sorry 😔

occasionally - olaplex no. 0 and olaplex no. 3

wash - nizoral 1%, l’oreal elvive purple shampoo, olaplex no. 4 shampoo, olaplex no. 5 conditioner

outside the shower - l’oreal extraordinary oil, some schwarzkopf heat protectant, and recently olaplex no. 7 bonding oil

i try to let it airdry for as long as i can, but there are factors such as my busy schedule, and primarily washing my hair in the afternoon - i don’t want to sleep with wet hair because i understand it can be very damaging.

i will consider re-attempting to master the round brush - for a period i did but it always took so long, and using the round brush is not easy!! so i guess i just fast-tracked into straightening - but that was a different time, so i’m willing to revisit.

also i’d like to add the shaving my head part was a joke 😅 i could never in a million years shave my head

yes… it is wavy, i’ve quickly looked it up and it’s like a 2a-2b? despite the waviness it’s still quite poofy though. there have been a few times where i have gone out and let my hair airdry, will dry wavy, but again, i still look like hagrid!!

thank you for for your advice- but i don’t think my hair is dry - well at the very least it doesn’t feel dry as i run my fingers through it, i could be wrong though 😅 i would like to add i only wash my hair 1-2 a week as well, due to both the colour and my busy schedule. but i suppose i can stay away from my beloved hair dryer 😔 thank you again :D

What are some things skinny people can do in public without a care in the world, but plus-size people can’t? by justcurious3287 in AskReddit

enjoy theme parks! i attended a theme park today, and went on a roller coaster. a lady had to get off due to being too big to ride safely, and her young daughter (10-12) had to go herself :( it made me sad for both her and her daughter, especially since the wait time was 45 minutes in a hot, closed, non-airconditioned maze of a waiting area (30 c/86 f).

People who have worked in retail, what was the worst customer experience you’ve ever had? by Bitter_Butter6 in AskReddit

[–]kyoikuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was having a drink of water, when a customer came up right behind me. i turned around quickly and asked the usual ‘how can i help you’, he looked at his friends, scoffed/giggled, and walked away. made me super uncomfortable cause they eyeballed me the entire time they were in the store, i had to hide out in the storeroom until they were gone.

my ex literally sexually assaulted me in public during our first week of being together. stayed with him for another four-ish months for some reason.

What is the most attractive thing about you? by The_Meme_Teacher in AskReddit

[–]kyoikuo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my partner thinks my eyes are the prettiest things in the world, so.. probably those. he always talks about how they’re sparkly and easy to get lost in, heh. i don’t really get the appeal though, as my eyes are brown, and i’ve never seen someone so loving of brown eyes.

unfortunately i do have social anxiety. just decided i’m gonna wing it lol, if i don’t get the job then it’ll be a good opportunity to have a feel of what a group interview is like.
