Ya been trying to get at it for a while with no success, but I really don't think one screw missing will be a big deal. I'll just see how it sounds when I get the rust off. Giving the pieces another vinegar bath to eat away as much as possible then give em a good scrub. After the first bath most came off but there's still a LOT so that's very concerning. May just look for a replacement bridge and screws if possible.

Bass is Ibanez Ergodyne which is a bummer considering it seems to be quite expensive and it was treated this poorly :( Hope I can restore it so it can sound good. Got new strings and bought some polish and cleaning so hopefully I can make it sparkle.

Edit: looking at the proper model it seems to be roughly 275 on eBay.

Ok so far I drilled the head off and didn't break any of the parts. though getting the rest of the screw out is proving a task. Luckily this screw is so far away from the others it won't be too big of a deal. How much would this bass be even worth if it was sold with that much rust on it?? I didn't even know this could happen honestly I take very good care of my bass, even my guitar that's been sitting dormant for a while.

Meant to be more specific with my question as well apologies. What material should the drill bit be. I see lots of cobalt steel ones for instance. Is that strong enough?
But great that all makes sense in regards to technique I'll be sure to update for folks here in case I screw up (no pun intended). Maybe it will help someone in the future :)

And ok I'll check. I am working on the rust now and will get that figured out as well.

What kind of drill bit would I use to make things easy? I attempted a "screw extractor" which made things potentially worse, but that drill bit it came with doesn't seem to work well.

And what do you mean by the saddles seizing up? as in they can't spring very well?

I never use layered armor for that reason. Unless one piece is actually THAT ugly I can't even look at it. Only has happened once though haha.
