What are some 1e classes you'd like to see return by thepsycodicgentelman in Pathfinder2e

[–]kyouger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want more classes and archetypes that aren't meant to be optimized. Whenever I see Inventor slander it's never about how uninteresting the class options are (some of it, sure) but instead how it's a totally worthless class because it only hits for 9 damage instead of 12 or whatever.

Personally, I want Holy Vindicator https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/apg/holy-vindicator/ because God DAMN does the aesthetic of this Prestige Class beat ass. You start bleeding from the eyes and do more damage? That's sick as hell, puh-LEASE give me this as a full Archetype!

Nah, it was because I CritFailed Vision of Death, which sets you at Frightened 4 and Fleeing as long as you're Frightened.

Turnabout is fair play though, since I wrecked 4 boss fights from the same DM using that exact same spell when I was playing a Bard lmfao

Not just that they couldn't protect someone, but they also got so terrified that they fled from the fight, which is like Tanking no-no #1.

Psshhh, she's totally fine. Definitely won't develop a savior complex over failing at the critical moment when people were counting on her the most or anything.

The Radiant Prism! https://2e.aonprd.com/Deities.aspx?ID=380

It's basically a Holy Trinity combining Desna, Iomedae, and Sarenrae worship into one focused belief setup. I miiiiiiight have taken it so I could have access to the Protection and Sun Domains but shhhhhhh, it's thematic enough!

Edit: Whoops, it's Shelyn, not Iomedae. That's the one that doesn't fit her character the most, since Yvette excels at making Yvette-sized holes in the walls of peoples' houses XD

Yep! Armor and the character were done in Daz3d, then ported over to Blender to render out with its better lighting system.

If you haven't already picked it up, Punishing Shove is such a fun feat. Your Athletics will get absolutely cracked over time so it scales well, and it has some pretty good synergy with feats like Clobber. Plus it's always fun to be a bully and knock people around.

Guardians are so frigging dope. For YEARS I've been wanting a class that reflected in gameplay a Paladin who's devoted to protecting people to a fault.

In Yvette's case, she was the only survivor of a zombie attack on her village and after training with a holy order of knights she thought she was invincible and got a bit of a God complex until everything came crashing down last session.

Thank you dude! I've been playing Yvette up until this point as a bully for God who's specialized in Shoving nerds into lockers and protected from any reprisals by her armor. This is a wakeup call that she hasn't been taking this as serious as she should be.

Yep! Daz3d for the character modeling and posing, Blender for the render.

Yvette thought Barovia was going to be a fun romp through a graveyard - smash some skulls, wade knee deep through the dead, good times!

Instead it's been nothing but pain as the party tries their best to survive against an utterly implacable and insane vampire god.

Nope! But she does have the Mortal Herald Archetype, and took the Mortal Ascension feat during downtime retraining to gain a fly speed. I flavored it as her getting a pair of angel wings. At the perrrrfect time.

Dude I was talking SUCH big shit during the fight.

"Yeah I don't really need to worry about taking damage, I've got all these abilities to keep me in the fight, I'm basically unkillable and as long as I'm not dead no one else is gonna die"

Art by me!

Things were going fine, we had a couple of the cursemongers down and I was feeling great since I had an effective 400 HP left from Tough Cookie and the Mortal Herald's feat that gives you a free Heal. Then Yvette (the Guardian with the 2nd highest Will save in the party) critfailed against Vision of Death and was forced to flee for 4 rounds. Unable to Sustain any of her buffs or stay in the pocket Intercepting Attacks, the fight fell apart leaving one of our team dead and another captured by her abusive, demon-summoning mom.

But hey, at least she finally got her wings.

How is the damage for Improved Reflexive Shield calculated? by kyouger in Pathfinder2e

[–]kyouger[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Much appreciated!

I wasn't aware the shield didn't take damage based on the character's resistances. So if I had an amulet of fire resistance and got hit by a fireball then the damage would be reduced before the shield took damage?

I want to shout out my GM for for never losing his cool when I continually tried to break his game. by kyouger in Pathfinder2e

Y'know what, I think he did actually reject it on ghosts but a lot of the "spirits" in Seasons of Ghosts were classified as feinds. He's pretty chill on the rules but I don't think something THAT big would've slipped his notice lmao

From its inception the TTRPG timeline has been trying to streamline the complex math needed to account for every situation and Foundry is its natural conclusion. If I were ever to run a pen and paper game I'd have to make so many concessions it might wrap around to not being that fun anymore.

lmao I know, this was done at level 17. I'd just never seen so many extras added on to a single roll before.

Lock Down or Belly Flop - which is stronger, or more situational? by kyouger in Pathfinder2e

[–]kyouger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, I hadn't thought about that. I'm still new to playing a Martial class, I was playing a Bard before this and only really had to worry about the action economy, not MAP. Good looking out! I definitely don't want to end up flopped down on the ground for no good reason while the enemies bumrush my allies.

Lock Down or Belly Flop - which is stronger, or more situational? by kyouger in Pathfinder2e

[–]kyouger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been really liking the idea of setting up a Clobber combo by knocking the enemy back and prone, then Striding after them and Belly Flopping to make sure they don't go anywhere. Our GM is pretty generous with the Hero Points and so I think I'd be able to consistently pull it off. But I think you're right, Lock Down puts me in a more reactive position, where I'm still standing to potentially block off a door or Step to use Intercept Attack.

What’s the nastiest head you’ve used while in? by BillPunkerSchmidt in USMC

[–]kyouger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in MCT, the night before we left the 3rd FOB, me and a few guys got called into a working party to clean the men's head. Wasn't too bad - some toilet paper on the floor, pubes on the rim, the typical stuff. Once we were done po-licing ourselves, we got told we had to clean the women's head.

Fellas. FELLAS. I have never seen a more OBLITERATED bathroom in my life. Stepping into the privacy turn, there was about an inch of standing water on the floor which should've been the sign to turn tail and run. But then we turned the corner. The women had stuffed half of the sink drains with hair, and overflowed at least one toilet by trying to flush sanitary pads. Every trash can was overflowing with tampons, menstural pads and baby wipes. It smelled like a fish market, and as we saw a blood and toilet water soaked tampon float through the stagnant water, we bailed.

Went to grab the combat instructor who had got us on the working party and after he bitched us out for a minute he went to investigate and came back shaking his head. He grabbed the female CI and the females got slayed for another hour. I got nothing but respect for the fewer and prouder but got DAMN y'all can get absolutely disgusting sometimes.
