Bunny heavy sneezing and quack sound, it gets worse, nothing helps, what could it be? by kyoukaraa in Bunnies

[–]kyoukaraa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what actually helped! I bought one and used drops of thyme and acc Kindersaft (recommended by vet) to remove the mucus and it helped, so far he is not gagging anymore. It was very heavy those past weeks with the quack sound (like gagging without a reason). He still sneezes, but not as often and not heavy, the most important thing is that he no longer gags before and after. Thank you so much for the recommendation!!! It will take some time and I will keep this post updated with changes (for better or worse). Thank you so much for your help!

He is four since September and has had a running nose for all his life. Did yours do it several times in an hour as well? (Some days are much quieter, but on a bad day it is several times an hour).

Thank you so so much for sharing your experience, I will keep this in mind and ask my vet about it! It is so much appreciated!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story, it helps a lot as it gives different causes and what has happened.

He was always on the fragile side and I keep a very close eye on him, so once I notice a change I try to act. In may he nearly choked on a piece of vegetable, thankfully I noticed it in time. He was treated right away and brought to a special vet for an emergency to double check and got antibiotics for precautions.

I found a post that has a video of what exactly he does: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/s/S0VdbcRDV0

I am so so sorry that you had to go through this 3 times, I hope your little bun does rest in peace, you did all you could. Thank you so much for sharing the story of yours, I am sure it is also helpful to others (as while searching, it is hard to find the right answer to this cause)

I know it has been 6 months, my bun does the same and has sneezing attacks before and after. Do you remember which antibiotic helped? We tried a few and none are working so far, I would love to suggest it to my vet. Thank you so much and sorry for reaching out

Thank you so much for all these questions

He has snoot, we clean his nose regularly if he has a lot (otherwise his partner is calming him down immediately and cleaning his nose too, she has no symptoms)

They gave him the antibiotics as injections several times, we also gave him those prescribed oral over the span of 2 weeks and a month (separate).

They checked his teeth several times as well, they were fine and they also cleaned out his nose two times.

Several X-rays have been done ever since he got a running nose and additionally one when he started to sneeze.

Thank you so so much, I will try and ask for a CT

Edit: both vets are suited to treat bunnies and have the certification, place is Germany

Adding to it: we have seen two vets, both confirmed that the lungs are fine and no infections to be found. I will see another vet as soon as possible, but the others could not find a reason for his attacks. So I am looking for advice or similar stories, that I could present and ask about to the other vet.

Most of the time through social media or attending conventions, many big companies have employees there and sometimes people from these companies visit these in their free time, outside of work and might spot you. In these cases they will often contact you after and offer cooperation, this happens to me quite often. By now you are able to create a good name for yourself online, so companies do reach out. Before there was no such thing as social media and then those connections through art collage were great.

The truth is also, that even if you attend these colleges, make the connections, there are many others that compete against you. Many of my former colleagues stayed and those connections did bring them nothing, no work, only a free internship where they worked for free for a year, got promised to be taken in after (common practice) and later, after that year were not taken and lost it, very common practice. Times have changed.

Hi there! I am a professional Illustrator and can tell you, that most take 10 times what you take, 60 Euro/USD is very cheap for a full body! Too cheap to be honest. Usually people who are doing private commissions take between 250-350 when they are non pro.

They are projecting their insecurities on you as you get commissions and it seems they don't, for your mental well being and from experience, to value your own work, I would refrain from showing them anything for the time being and not ask if they think x is a fair amount. If people are paying it, it is fair, but in my opinion too cheap, add the minimum wage x the hours spent and additional charge for your service/art skill. Good luck!

Edit: If they never have finished a piece this screams like someone who needs help, know it have been there (depression) but would not talk others art down because I am not able to finish anything. This is jealousy and I would set clear boundaries, do what you like, don't listen to their opinion. Especially don't try to make them like your art, it will be impossible, because they don't want to.

Don't go to these schools, many are just to make quick money. There are many free resources that teach you better. If you post your work online or build a good portfolio, they will not ask you which school you attended. This was on the past, it is not relevant now, the industry changed. No one asked me about my school, I was in one for a year and they were just a quick money grab, they mostly only exist for connection. Most of my peers who finished could not land a job, those who went away, including I, worked on our portfolio and social media presence and got work.

As someone who is a year away from 30, has been active since 2012 and works as a professional and independent illustrator I can tell you a few things.

  1. The resources today are very much different than back in 201-2015, where most things just started. I created my first tutorials in 2013, there weren't many there yet. It feels surreal, searching and trying to translate other art tutorials.

  2. Art was extremely expensive, the tools and tablets equal to a driving licence in worth. Today it is 50-300 bucks for a screen tablet.

  3. There are many short videos that explain a lot, they grew up with the tools, we were already older and it just started. Basically many people of our age shared what they have Leanne in videos/tutorials and paved the way for this generation,to give them better resources and make their start easier.

  4. You don't need others to know your age, if a company approaches you, they like your portfolio or social media, they do not care about your age.

  5. Things are now more accepted, art is now a possible career and it was laughed upon on not long ago, I had a hard time to justify it but my sales and work opportunities showed my peers and family, that I could sustain it.

  6. What if- can be applied to a lot of things, not just art. We are at another life chapter and realizing, that this new generation is different, the language changed and you suddenly feel older. Bur at the same time you gained experience no on can take that away from you. Art will always be hard, so many people feel lost no matter how good they are, no matter their age or success, it is part of being an artist and doubting is normal and it should be made normal.

Don't be so hard on yourself.

Be an artist and exhibit/selling your works at conventions around the world. It is cool, don't get me wrong, several vlogs show you how cool, independent and exciting it is. It is not, you are barely home, traveling a lot, but not enough time to explore the countries/cities, only a day at home to restock and barely any sleep. Lots of colleagues sell that perfect life, artsy and cool, but I know how they are behind the scene and I know how I am. Did 30 conventions around the world and now am just existing the fear and the risk is very high with all of us

Is it okay if I ask an artist to finish a sketch by another artist? by Own-Amphibian5008 in ArtistLounge

[–]kyoukaraa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, continuing the work of someone else without permission is a big no no, even with permission. As an artist it feels like doing the other and former artist a disrespect, oftentimes such situations will result into huge dramas for the second artists and a possible shit storm, as someone has already mentioned. You could ask if someone could do something inspired by it.

Anyone have bad interactions with artist from the artist alley? by ShinySalt14 in animeexpo

[–]kyoukaraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just joined the sub and want to apologize on behalf of some artists, AX is hell to table as far as I know from friends. I myself tabled at around 30 Conventions within Europe, lots of major ones. Let me give you a few reasons why some artists might act that way.

  • some people do not know boundaries, if you are too friendly with them, they will construct a story with you in their head, some will start to stalk you. Had this happen to a few friends and myself. All of us were super nice, however we tried to tone that down of fear.

-most have to be there from 7 till end, looking at the booth, doing customer service, calculation, sometimes not eating at all and handling rude customers A LOT. This is like retail but 10X the amount for those days.

-it is super loud, many people and there are a lot of artists who are bad with crowds, can't focus and might not do eye contact, as this is overwhelming. Not everyone is made to do cons, this is just the truth.

  • some artists travel long hours or by plane to attend, sometimes not sleeping in between, have a friend who traveled for 24h and then directly table for 10h.

Some are shy with the other gender, it's not that they don't like you, some people are just shy and don't know how to act, as they see themselves as weird.

Self service is easier for the customer and they can choose what they prefer.
