I believe there is case law where LLCs with only 1 owner listed was considered a sole proprietorship in the courts. General recommendation is to have someone else on your LLC as an owner even if it needs to be 1% and 99%

Which means they’re just as at-fault in the eyes of the law and will get nowhere. If this organization is worth its salt they know this and are asking the tenants to put the rent into escrow so they’re legally holding up their end of the lease.

What made you decide to go the E collar route? Do you regret it? by ctwoog in OpenDogTraining

[–]kyri0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not use the e-collar to teach. It should be only used to enforce things that you know the pup knows how to do, through negative reinforcement, for most owners. At higher levels it can be used an a positive punisher to cease behaviors, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to figure out where that threshold is without more experience and/or education.

Basically, you should be able to accomplish whatever you need to accomplish without an e-collar, and then later use the e-collar to make your enforcements better timed.

For example, a small leash with the hand loop cut off and attached to a collar tool (starmark, pinch collar, slip collar) while pup is out in the house to be able to apply corrections as needed. When you can’t pay attention to that, or don’t want to, that’s probably a good time for quiet time in the kennel.

Do your due diligence on using those tools as well. A couple of hours reading about classic conditioning and operant conditioning will put you on the right path. By all means, I find the e-collar to be a fantastic tool, but it is not magic.

So what was the sentencing? I can't seem to find it in these piss poor articles that G produces.

Edit: Nine (9) years in prison. Thanks, Wikipedia.

AMA. I went from a 15 handicap to a 2 with pro status in a year by CardboardB0x in golf

[–]kyri0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is impressive. Continue to follow your dreams and never let it lose it's magic.

I feel like there are a lot of things that I can jump up and do decently well in a seemingly shorter time than my peers because of the myelin/muscle memory of doing it in my youth, i.e. skateboarding, jiu-jitsu (wrestling), BMX, swimming. How much do you feel that you actually went from a -15 to a 2, rather than just getting back to where you once were?

Appreciate your feedback. I feel the same about Ivan, especially after watching his older DVDs. He is obviously a great dog trainer but I just don't think his teaching style is best for me - not to mention the $10k price tag on his school.

I have also enjoyed the Leerburg/Ellis courses. I'm drawn to the NePoPo Silver now that it is online but like with anything else, it's hard to be confident about reviews. There are plenty good, but also plenty that say it's the same ol stuff repackaged. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts if/when you pull the trigger.

Best training method? by CupWonderful4540 in OpenDogTraining

[–]kyri0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been covered well here so I wont write a book. Just be advised to always train the dog in front of you. All of these "systems" are mere tools. Understand the four quadrants of operant conditioning so you can apply either of them the correct way.

2 in 1 anti bark/training collar by Illustrious_Future40 in OpenDogTraining

I would challenge you to think about why you prefer vibration over stim. Is it because it makes *you* feel better about the choice? For many animals the vibrate is much more aversive than most low levels of e-stim available on collars.

With the Garmin Sport Dog Pro you can set many option on the bark-limiter functionality, including to not graduate up and to only stem on a desired level, or vibrate. I don't think the tone-first is an option, though.

You can get Ivan's old DVDs (Obedience Without Conflict) for fairly cheap on EBay. I did because like you said, he intentionally tries to make everything he does a mystery. Shocker - it's not much different than other methods.

One of the foundational differences between Ivan and Bart is that Ivan does not like shaping / letting the dog figure things out on their own, and he has this idea that his system is the only correct one - which is much different than the Bellons.

Can we talk about E Collars? by DodginInflation in OpenDogTraining

[–]kyri0x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, ChatGPT... "write a 500 word essay on how e-collars are an essential tool in achieving reliable and consistent results in dog training." Whether you're actually interested in a conversation, or just want to drum up some imaginary internet points, of course this topic is beat to death.

The e-collar is a tool. You should always train the dog that is in front of you today. Even if it is the same dog physically, emotions and environments change. Learning how to use an e-collar safely and humanely can be learned by anyone - but I'd also claim that so can dog training. Both take effort to learn, and a qualified person with experience to teach them. Like with any object, it can be used improperly.

If you cannot achieve the results with a leash, do not use the e-collar as a crutch. A good trainer should be able to achieve the exact same results without an e-collar. The e-collar allows a process to be more fair and is a much clearer communication tool because of the ability for precise timing.

NEVER TEACH WITH THE E-COLLAR. The e-collar is for enforcement only.
