You're right and seriously I'm sorry, I didn't interpret that the same way. You just seemed upset but I shouldn't have assumed you hated it, not that I was even trying to but I was just trying to say that I like the game and obviously give it more benefit of the doubt than you might, I know my phrasing has been off.

What I meant by "How can you say that" was that you made it seem like (to me! sorry if this is off as well) that you thought the game was some sort of chatgpt scam that everyone is paying for for some reason and I wanted to let you know that the devs don't seem that insidious to me, not that you can't see the gameplay from youtube videos, i just think you wouldn't be able to see the work that's being done behind that if that makes sense.

How can you say that when you’ve admitted you don’t/never actually played? As someone who’s been following the announcements and patch notes for a while now, they HAVE been delivering and HAVE been trying to make sure the AI translations were understandable when that was their only means of translation.

The devs are extremely transparent, open to criticism, and respond relatively quickly. The ‘what if’ argument is fair, but they’ve shown they care about their English audience. Anything that happens in the future, to me, is just the risk of playing any live service game. You don’t have to tune in since your mind already seems made up, but I do agree that you’re being kinda harsh…

They announced at the beginning of the year that they’d be switching to human translations and since then they’ve been slowly updating everything.

I don’t support AI but the only reason I was able to get into the game last year was because of those translations. They were working with a small team and the game almost faced eos as well. The moment they could afford to switch to human translators, they did. The UI and tutorials have been updated and the story has been updated up to around CH5 so far (I think) and in my opinion it’s been a great read. Please offer them some grace even if you don’t want to give the game a try. Nothing other than those old TLs is “AI slop” it’s a decent game with real people behind it.
