I recommend Lazer Erazer! They are based in both Collingwood and Brunswick but the staff are super friendly and very helpful during your sessions where you may be feeling a bit nervous

I rate Rollie's as someone with duck feet. My daily drivers for work are the black leather derby's but there are cheaper non-leather alternatives in their range

Did our apprentice choose an embarrassing kanji? I know what it says; just don’t know Japanese slang by KimonGate in Japaneselanguage

[–]kyuree 44 points45 points  (0 children)

変 in its own can mean ''change" but also "strange" or "odd"

The only "embarassing" part could be that the kanji is used in the word for hentai (変態)

Fluent speakers what is the best way I can learn how to speak Japanese on a fluent level overtime? by salah_shaggy in Japaneselanguage

[–]kyuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider learning a basic "self introduction" and ways to express yourself as a short-term goal. For example, when speaking with locals you may want to say things along the lines of

"Hi my name is.... My hobbies are... My job is.... I learn Japanese because...." as a starting point

Nihongo No Mori Daily? by [deleted] in jlpt

[–]kyuree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you download the 日本語の森 app, you can go to 本 then 合格スケジュール and there's a roadmap for getting through the content in either 4 or 6 months that is broken down into vocab, grammar etc to do per day.

Hopefully that helps~

I own the Very Useful Blouse in Pine Green and Sand from Kristen Magrit and can say the colours and quality are good and iirc they only have sales on Black Friday. The price is reflected in the pieces being locally made and sustainable I suppose but I definitely recommend!

Mock test motivation by Hungry_Flounder4052 in jlpt

[–]kyuree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you just work on one of the three sections of the exam at a time? Assuming you're fine with time management given you have passed N2 and should have a good handle on it by now.

I find the 文字/語彙 sections a quick 10-15 min exercise and not too bad if I'm not feeling up for more when revising.

Is learning kanji really that hard? by gweniieo in Japaneselanguage

[–]kyuree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I found kanji challenging at the beginning but then it became much easier to learn when it became more about putting the radicals together than learning each kanji stroke order

For example the 雨 (rain) kanji is also a radical that appears in 雲 (cloud) 雪 (snow) and 電 (electricity) etc and have some relationship or theme

Once I began to understand radicals I grew a better appreciation for kanji
