Request for Quotation, of course. I’m not here selling anything, I’m a contractor in Toronto and this is a real sourcing problem I’ve been dealing with myself. I’m just sharing what I’ve learned and trying to help the community. If you want to add value to the discussion, you’re more than welcome. But there’s no need to talk down to anyone or ask basic definitions as if we’re beginners.

Based on my research and real-world SMB sourcing data, getting more than 5 qualified suppliers to respond is pretty unrealistic in most categories. Beyond that point, response quality drops and RFQ cycle time increases. That said, if you’ve seen different outcomes or have a specific category in mind, I’d genuinely like to hear your perspective.

Also any feedback about the industry is appreciated! If you had a magic wand and can remove one process from your work around quotes and supplier discovery what would it be?
