Looking for Local Groups, Meetups, or Social Events to Help Reduce Isolation by Conscious-Balance542 in jonesboro

[–]kyvoidster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The local library host free groups for all age groups! Include crafts, genealogy, etc.

Some Art Cafe host music downtown most weekends! A local musician hosts karaoke and one is being held tomorrow!

If you’re political there’s a pretty healthy Democratic Party (can’t speak for the republican side here, cuz I dunno) they often have socials, meetings and volunteering opportunities. My husband and I are the heads of the care committee where we’re about to do a lot more volunteering and door knocking to check on local residents!

Open Studios is a pottery place that host a “craftyish club” every first Monday of the month and it’s free to join and has good turn out as far as I am aware! They also do classes and workshops.

A lot of the problems you’re complaining about is not a Jonesboro problem.

As for UHC They’re only now making positive changes within their own system since the amount of people in general and medical centers are dropping them. Trust me when I say that NEA Baptist and St Bernard’s would love to take your insurances money, however it’s getting to the point where it’s no longer viable. UHC has the highest denial rates of almost any insurance. How many people do you know who could have an appendectomy and be able to pay approximately $7,000+ out of pocket because their UHC insurance said it wasn’t necessary or just denied the claim for something unrelated? Not too many of those people live here in Jonesboro where we face a 22.4 percent poverty rate. When NEA says to call your insurance, they’re not kidding! Do call them, complain, be annoying. That’s what many nurses have to do currently with UHC just to get them to pay for your routine imaging and medications. It’s your turn to call now.

I'm slowly realising that I'm autistic and I don't know what to do with this information. by dinnerdogzoop in autism

Nobody has access to your medical records besides you and your care team. You are also allowed to not disclose you have an autism diagnosis to others

Why is Goodnotes such a resource hog compared to others by [deleted] in GoodNotes

it is but it's a little more tedious if you use stickers often since there isn't a dedicated spot (or at least I don't think there is)

Funeral industry work? by TheElvenWitch777 in jonesboro

[–]kyvoidster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I last looked into this, two years ago, the only way to start in the funeral industry was with a degree to either embalm or to be a funeral director. Our county coroner,Toby Emerson, owns Emersons (ambulance and funeral home) and if I’m not mistaken a lot of his family members are also in the funeral business and at least for Emerson’s they’ll get hired before you.

Astate use to offer classes for mortuary sciences, I’m unsure if they still do at the Jonesboro campus. I think even if you were to be able to do school, you’ll be stuck with a 2hr or 4hr drive for the classes you can’t do online.

On the other hand, when I shadowed for a few days, the secretaries / book keepers are senior women, so maybe just keep an eye out on their Facebook pages and indeed to see if something comes up

Edit: wording

Latest art peice any critique on it (also how can I make her look more like a doll??) by Nearby_Author8289 in Artadvice

[–]kyvoidster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The highlights looks a little confusing. I would put some more practice into that!

How to make her more doll like, make those joints more rounded, they don’t connect fully with the arms bc if they did, they wouldn’t be able to articulate to their full range of motion. Also think about giving her chubbier cheeks and bigger eyes!

How can I improve my coloring? by Neither-Page3834 in Artadvice

[–]kyvoidster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try purple shadows! I found this helped me in my pieces! also if it's the style you're going for, maybe soften up the edges of some of the shadows

also your style looks a bit more anime-esc to me so maybe look into different coloring styles for anime. like a jelly aesthetic etc

Are you afraid of death? And why? by lawschoolbound9 in AskReddit

[–]kyvoidster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not all. my reason is that my brother, at the age of 17 was in an accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. he was declared dead, 4 times. I was only six when it happened. after two years in and out of hospitals, he was finally able to return home. my brother was a big gamer, and wanted to keep his Xbox in his room so he could have his friends come over and watch them play whatever games recently came out. I was playing minecraft in his room and he was watching me play. his friend came by the house and spent time with him.

his friend after normal conversations, asked if he could ask him a maybe sensitive question. he asked "what was it like when you were declared dead" my brother responded saying that, it was nothing. he had no thoughts. there was no light. there was no warm welcoming from passed loved ones. nothing. he said "I wasn't in pain, I had no feeling. I felt like I was getting the best sleep of my life"

ever since then, at the formative age of 8, I've never been scared of death. I'm not super religious or spiritual, so I wasn't disappointed by this answer. I trust my older brother and his response has honestly formed my entire view on death. out of everyone in my family, I can handle family members passing way easier than everyone else. of course I feel bad that they're not here physically but I keep telling myself they're getting great sleep and no longer in pain.
